September Ophelia's Apothecary Review + Giveaway!
It's no secret that Ophelia's Apothecary is one of my favorite all-time subscription boxes. I'm in love with the products and it's one of the few boxes where I use every sample up! Every product is amazing! I got the September Ophelia's Apothecary bag this past weekend and have been dying to share it! It's amazing- as always- AND fall-themed! Take a look!Type: Indie Box
Cost: $15/month
What is it?: "A style profile can customize your treats to your preferences, you can cancel at any time or skip a month. Packages will include 4 or 5 fabulous treats, some full sizes, some samples, sometimes a piece of jewelry, information about the products in your box, and coupons and specials just for you based on your spending habits with Ophelia's Apothecary. All products, for the most part, will be straight from our studio, unless I find a treat to include that you might like from elsewhere. If you refer someone, please message me their name and once you have signed up 4 people, you will get one month free!" Right now, you can also sign up through FB but you can also see products and buy on their website. Boxes are also available on a quarterly or bi-annually service! Mention my name to get a free perfume roller-ball when you sign up for a 3-month sub OR just cause you are awesome and are giving me referral kudos!
Ophelia's Apothecary has switched to mailers over boxes and I actually love it. There's less packaging strewn around my house and you can add extra details (like autumn confetti leaves) in mailers!
First look!!
Love the bag!
First peek at the stuff!
New info card- I love it.
Prices are no longer listed but it's so cute!
If you can't tell throughout the pics- I loved the little leaves confetti pieces!
Massage and Bath Oil: My fragrance (which people got an assortment of) is brown sugar fig! It smells SO good! It's not too strong and has the perfect, light, sweet smell. I'm so game for this. I have back problems like crazy and CJ has to give me massages all the time... ok, he doesn't have to... he's the best. Anyway, I'll probably use it for that but bath oil is great too. The smell is seriously so good! Price: $4
Equinox Perfume Oil: I'm definitely picky about my perfumes but I've gotten some great ones from Ophelia's Apothecary so I was excited to see another one this month. This perfume has notes of lavender, crisp apples, and woodsy oak- and that seems right on the money! The oak and apples give it a very strong, fall sort of scent. It seemed too much for me but like most perfumes the smell calms down and now I like the earthy smell. Hmm- not earthy- outdoorsy. It smells like you are walking in the woods with a crisp autumn breeze. Ooo-imagery. Definitely different than my go-to scents but I think it will be really nice on cold autumn days. Price: $8
Pumpkin Pie anti bac Hand Gel: I was so excited to see this! I was in need of a new purse hand gel. It's starting to be cold season and it's especially bad during the "peace be with you" time during church at my church job. I'm sorry, but who isn't pulling back when someone coughs into their hand then reaches out to shake yours! I took a big whiff of this when I first put it on and woah- it cleared my sinuses! Alcohol! Gave it a second to dry and there was the scent! It even lasts a long time. It's faint, well- fainter that other scented hand gels (think Bath & Body Works) which I LOVE! I hate the strong smelling ones that everyone within a mile can smell. This one smells like spices- nutmeg and such. Mmm. I keep smelling my hands (I re-tested it right now!)- I can't stop! Price: $1.50
Brown Paper Packages Tied up with String!
Cute, no?
What's this...
Could it be just for me!??!
Initialed Pendant: Ophelia's Apothecary had written on the August Info Card that she was hard at work on some new custom jewelry (since subscribers clamor for it) and here it is! These handmade pendants are awesome. I love that she didn't just send out necklaces or a bracelet or something with this- we get to choose! September seems to be the month of customization and I love it! Hilarious that my newspaper backing talks about a communist trial- Hilar! I love it all! It looks SO pretty in the pendant! This is one of those handmade things you'd see on pinterest but would never actually make yourself since it'd end up on some fail website. Ophelia's Apothecary says we could rock these sassy pendants on a chain, ribbon, strap of leather, anything! I'm thinking about making mine a bookmark! I'm gonna use an old bookmark and attach this to the ribbon! It'd be a perfect marker in my weekly to-do notebook!! Love it! Price: $15
Sugar Scoop Scrubs: I can't tell if this has a scent or it just smells so unbelievably good and delicious because it is sugar! This new product is easy to use and best for the shower- using oils to soften your skin and sugar to exfoliate. SOO good. You could follow your shower with the bath oil included too! Mini spa time in your own home! Love. Price: $2
*Update: The scent is Winter Solstice- it's amazing.
Pumpkin Facial Masque: I'm pretty sure this is just a pumpkin smashed up into a jar. It smells and looks like a pumpkin. Pumpkins are packed with over 100 minerals and nutrients that can pamper your skin! Did you know that? I didn't- Ophelia's Apothecary told me. This is the product "Ophelia" was the most excited about this month- she says it's amazing! I'm sooo excited! I don't have to worry about my skin reacting weird since it's a natural product! And c'mon, it's pumpkin, can we all admit we go pumpkin crazy right now. I admit it. I've hit that time when I want to make hot cider and make pumpkin spice cookies and maybe join in the pumpkin-fest that is Starbucks. I admit it all! I'm all about this product! Price: $3
Verdict: Another stellar month! I'm in the Fall mode now!!! $33.50 in goods! Woot! The pendant alone pays for this month's box! P.S. my hands still smell amazing from using the anti bac gel before writing this all down! Amazing. I love this month's selection. Everything smells scrumptious and it's all products I can use and use now! The pendant is such a fun addition! I may change my mind on how to use it, but that's the kicker- I get to chose myself! And it's so cool! I can't say enough about this box!!
Sign up yourself and when you mention my name (broke beauty blogger) you will get a free perfume roller-ball when you sign up for a 3-month sub OR you can mention my name just cause you are awesome and are giving me referral kudos!
