August Ophelia's Apothecary Review
Love my Ophelia's Apothecary sub! It's actually one of my favorite subscriptions. Every month I get fun and amazing products and August wasn't any different. Check it out!Ophelia's Apothecary:
Type: Indie Box
Cost: $15/month
What is it?: "A style profile can customize your treats to your preferences, you can cancel at any time or skip a month. Packages will include 4 or 5 fabulous treats, some full sizes, some samples, sometimes a piece of jewelry, information about the products in your box, and coupons and specials just for you based on your spending habits with Ophelia's Apothecary. All products, for the most part, will be straight from our studio, unless I find a treat to include that you might like from elsewhere. If you refer someone, please message me their name and once you have signed up 4 people, you will get one month free!" Right now, you can also sign up through FB but you can also see products and buy on their website. Boxes are also available on a quarterly or bi-annually service! Mention my name (Broke Beauty Blogger) to get a free perfume roller-ball when you sign up for a 3-month sub OR just cause you are awesome and are giving me referral kudos!
Surprise! August came in a bag, not a box!
Nice packaging.
Info sheet- there were also coupons I didn't take pics of.
First look.
Perfumed Body Powder in Jasmine Vanilla: I've gotten body powder before and honestly have never really known what to do with it. I put lotion on right after the shower and while most people use powder after the shower or bath I can't help imagining a paste forming. For those like me, Ophelia's Apothecary offered suggestions, like sprinkling it on your sheets before sleep for a calming effect. Umm, yes please. I just used up the sleep spray I got from Ophelia's so I'll try this for sleep! Price: $3
Shea Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet Cake: My third Ophelia's Apothecary lip balm! I love my pink lemonade and vanilla mint ones- they are my all-time fav lip bams. Really. All-time. Anyway, my pink lemonade one is getting pretty low since it's the one I keep in my purse so this may replace it when it's gone. Smells yummy-of course! P.S. I love red velvet cake- I know it's just food coloring but it somehow makes it fantastic! Price: $5
Soap on the go- Wild Honeysuckle: I unboxed this right before our vaca- I should say relaxacation. So this seemed perfect! We stayed at in an amazing bed and breakfast suite which was of course fully stocked but these little soaps came in handy on many an occasion. They smell great and are super cute. They would be great in a guest bathroom. It's like everyone gets their own soap! Restaurants should grab on to this product! Price: $4.50
Household cleaner concentrate in Cucumber Mint: CJ and I have overhauled a lot of our cleaning supplies thanks to the Honest Company so I was really intrigued with this somewhat out-there product in this month's sub. This concentrate goes a long way and isn't filled with junk! I'm game. Price: $4.00
Lazy Day Cottage- Vintage Inspired Gift Tags: This extra from Lazy Day Cottage is pretty cute. I never do gift tags but it's a nice touch. These will get used and maybe I'll get a compliment or two since people might assume I was this crafty and thoughtful. $5
Verdict: This month I received $21.50 of products from this $15 subscription. Not the largest value they've had but still more than you pay. I use their products all the time and am currently polishing off the face scrub I got the other month which I ADORE! I use everything and I use it all until each container is empty. I love the stuff. August wasn't my all-time favorite but I love the soap and lip balm and will try everything else. That's a win.
FYI for the people who have loved when Ophelia's Apothecary offers jewelry, she is working on a new piece for September's box. Awesome.
