September Julep Review
Enter my Birchbox Head of Class Giveaway!
I can't believe I didn't get to Julep earlier this month! It's the first box I get each month and this month they did a brand overhaul. I ordered some add-ons this month so check out all my choices from the September Julep Cityscape collection!
Type: Nail Box
Cost: $19.99/month includes shipping
What is it?: Becoming a Julep Maven gives you access to all their products for 20% off as well as being part of their rewards program which earns you FREE boxes and products. To begin, you take a style quiz to determine you Julep Maven Style and your first box will be a welcome box. Each month you are sent the month's theme colors and products in the 4 beauty profiles and have the option to choose your assigned box or any other one available. You also have the option to skip any month- this may be the BEST feature at Julep. Julep also offers add-ons each month for extremely discounted rates as well as random/surprise bags/boxes all the time. Fun fact: Julep's full collection was one of Oprah's favorite things this past year. Use my referral link when you sign up and try your first month for free (except shipping) using the code FREEBOX or JULEPVIP.
Lots of pics at once- just the quote card this month- first peek at new packaging!
I LOVE that my add-ons were included in the same box this month! A great change for Julep. It's so nice to get everything at once!
New packaging- I admit, it's very chic.
September's collection was strangely not my favorite (strange since I ended up getting 5 of the collection's polishes)- I ended up going with my profile: Bombshell.
Daria: I don't have anything like this grey creme so I figured- why not?! I think it'll be a fun Fall color... for when fall comes to Texas! Price: $14
Karmen: I thought Karmen looked fun during selection time and very Fall-y. It's more orange than crimson/red than it looked online but I do still like the gold in it a lot so I'm happy. Price: $14
One Step Remover Pad: I echo the rest of the Julep subscribers when I say "Booo" to this extra! I know it's an "extra" aka not what you are paying for but they are usually fun or really useful. It's either something yummy like candy or a beauty product... that can be used more than once. I've gotten these before in a box but I got like 10 not just 1. They ARE good products- like I've said I've used them before- but one is just kind of sad. Price: $1
Bare Face Cleansing Oil: I wasn't excited for this beauty product at all. I just couldn't resist trying it- since you never know. Turns out, I love it! It's great for when I don't have the time or patience to really scrub my face at night and it totally takes off my foundation! And no, it does NOT make your skin oily. An A for Julep. Price: $28
Add-ons
Btw- don't you think they look alright as a set?...
Kristy: I was torn between all the boxes this month with nothing super pulling me which is why I added on so many extras. This dark blue from Boho Glam looked great in pics with an awesome glossy finish. This will be a perfect Fall AND Winter polish. Price: $14
Florence: My one Classic with a Twist polish this month. I realized a couple months ago that I severely lack in nudes and lighter shades in my collection- it's all brights or deep dark colors. I've been trying to get more variety- thus the purchase of Florence. Price: $14
Tatiana: Another selection from Boho Glam. October (& Halloween) are a month away but I couldn't resist getting this orange glitter polish. It's great for Autumn but it'll rock for Halloween. Price: $14
Verdict: For the $20 box itself I got $57 in products so definitely a good supply. I had fun with add-ons this month too so I am well stocked on new nail polish! The polishes will be great for Fall (again, when it is actually under 90 in Texas) and I found a friend in the cleansing oil! Not my favorite box of all time but definitely a quality box.

I'm obsessed with this cleanser, I absolutely love it. Glad I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteThe cleanser is awesome! I'm so glad I didn't skip this month. I picked bombshell too. Daria isn't my favorite ever, but I love Karmin. Definitely worth the price of the box, for sure.
