August Ipsy Review

Trying to get my August beauty boxes in before it's time for my September ones! (And so I can do my matchup for August!) Ipsy does do variants now so it's always interesting to see what each person got!

Ipsy:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Created by some of the top beauty bloggers/youtubers around, Ipsy subscribers receive a Glam Bag (a cute makeup bag) monthly with deluxe samples and full-size make-up products (usually 4-5 products). Ipsy sends out the same bag to everyone every month with some small differences usually based off of the Beauty Quiz you take when you sign up. Ipsy gives you a forum to load videos and pictures featuring looks made with your Glam Bag. Ipsy now has a referral points for extra goodies so if you sign up please use my link!!

The big ol' pink envelope.

First peek.

Code cards/Lash Bash event card (did not sign up to host that).

The bag- Glamour Academy was this month's theme.

Peek inside.

Michael Todd- Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub: I've gotten a lot of Face scrubs recently! I'm not complaining but I just haven't gotten around to trying them all yet! I like Michael Todd so I'm hoping this is good stuff- I know it's been a month but I just haven't gotten to this! I will- I promise! Price: $5.41

Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral All-in-one BB Cream: I'm not a big BB (or CC) cream person but I like Pacifica so I gave this a try. It's nice but I'll stick with my own routine. It's nice to have this for when I am really on-the-go though. Price: $5.33

Pixi Lash Booster Macara: I strangely enough was running low on mascaras and so I was excited to be getting this in my Ipsy bag! I had to throw out a bunch of full-sizers (eye makeup should go after 90 days- no excuses) and only had a few samples I hadn't tried. This one is nice- nothing special but solid. Price: $8.50

Mica Beauty Cosmetics- Eyeshadow in Bronze: I loved my Mica eyeliner I got from Ipsy- LOVED it! I say loved since I left it open all day a few weeks back and dried the bugger out- boo. Anyway, I like the brand and was stoked to get this shadow in bronze. Bronze shadows rocks. Full-size- woot! Price: $14.95

Urban Decay- Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy: I was one of the lucky ones to get an Urban Decay lipstick sample- awesome. This sample is little but oh-so-cutesy. I like that it's a sample but still in a real tube. I like the color it's a nice pink without being too bright. Price: $6?!?

Extra!

Lime Crime Nail Polish in Crema de Limon: I was lucky enough to have awesome readers who have used my Ipsy link to sign up and get me points for goodies! This nail polish is way weird for me (it's yellow!) but it'll be a good addition to my collection. I like to vary things up. I JUST saw a mani with this and it looked great- time for me to branch out! Price $8

Heads up! Ipsy has implemented their new points system for referrals and goodies! You have to go to Ipsy and click on your points balance and if you have enough points you can pick out a goodie. This month they are offering the Nicole OPI polish from last July (which I love-looks great on) and this:

It's a NYX Bronze Smokey Eye Kit. When I first checked my points on Ipsy they were out of this! I just checked again and they are available (I redeemed mine) so check it out.

Verdict: As always, these large samples (and full-size products) have a pretty high value, bringing this $10 bag to about $40.16 and $48.16 with my referral extra! I really liked the eyeshadow and lipstick and I'll definitely get good use out of the scrub, polish, and mascara. Overall a solid box!

Last note: I was one of the few who got my bag on time so a week or two before everyone else- no complaints from me but I do understand the shipping was a problem with the shipping agency not Ipsy!

September's boxes are up online so check out your glam bag- I'm excited for mine! And I reviewed my August stuff online- don't forget (since this a brand new service) so you can get a bag tailored to you!
