September Ipsy Review

I love Ipsy- no denying it. I love it. I was super stoked for September too after looking at my glam bag online and sure enough, I love my stuff. Check it out!

Ipsy:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Created by some of the top beauty bloggers/youtubers around, Ipsy subscribers receive a Glam Bag (a cute makeup bag) monthly with deluxe samples and full-size make-up products (usually 4-5 products). Ipsy sends out the same bag to everyone every month with some small differences usually based off of the Beauty Quiz you take when you sign up. Ipsy gives you a forum to load videos and pictures featuring looks made with your Glam Bag. Ipsy now has a referral points for extra goodies so if you sign up please use my link!!

The big pink envelope!

Classic Beauty- love this theme!

They had 14 products to choose from this month- when I first joined Ipsy you got something like 5/6 products available. HUGE change!

An extra- a look into Michelle Phan's new line.

Shadow sample.

I love the bag this month (didn't really like last month's bag)- it's blue and pretty. Done deal.

First peek.

Whee! Stuff!

NYX- Single Eye Shadow in Velvet Suede: Awesome sauce. I got an awesome NYX color. Be jealous. I am in love with this design and I got an awesome color for myself. My goal this winter (and fall, I guess) is to play more with eyeshadow tones. This blue will be perfect! Full-size! Price: $4.50

Starlooks- Obsidian Kohl Eye Pencil: I'm always on the fence about getting the Starlooks subscription so I love trying out their products (maybe it'll help me decide one day). I ran out of all my eye liner smudge sticks and pencils within 3 days and was desperate for something when this showed up in the mail! Saved. It's a pretty good pencil. I still like smudge sticks more but this definitely helped a girl out and is a good quality pencil. Full-size! Price: $12

*Update: This liner goes on amazingly BUT it smears. If I can find a way to not make it smear I'm sold but last night my crease was all black and it kept smearing on my hands!

Cailyn- Tinted Lip Balm in Big Apple: I love Cailyn products (this was my 3rd-although I got a 4th today) but had never tried their lip stuff. It makes perfect sense with their awesome 3-part system (lid + brush + pot all-in-one). It's a deep red but it's a balm so it doesn't just smear on which means you can load up on layers. A little goes on a long way with color and I have to say I approve. Full-size! Big ticket item!
Price: $19

Victoria Jackson- Taupe Brow Pencil: This taupe brow pencil is supposed to complement all hair colors and skin tones. It also has a built in sharpener. Interesting. I love my brow gel but I'll give this a try. It has great reviews btw. Full-size! Price: $14.95

*Update: I love this. It's reeeeal good!

Elizabeth Moss- It's So Big Volumizing Mascara: I wanted to re-stock my mascara collection and my makeup subs are totally filling my request. Definitely excited to use this. It's an Ipsy exclusive launch which makes it feel super special. The brush looks great so I have high expectations! Price: $8

*Update: Not too enthused my this- it took like 10 layers to get anything on. Didn't give me volume.

Verdict: I loved my September Ipsy bag. I might have traded my eye pencil or brow pencil for the Butter London nail polish (I wanted it!) but I'm good with my choices and missing out on one thing isn't the biggest deal. I need to try the mascara and brow pencil still but I can't help already being satisfied with this bag. FOUR full-size products! This $10 bag was worth $58.45. GEEZ! Can't beat that! Sign up to get the next Ipsy bag now!

*Update: I'd trade the mascara for the Butter London polish and keep the liner and brow pencil!

*Side note: I didn't use my IpsyPoints (from referrals and such) until after the product I hadn't gotten yet (the palette) was "sold out" so I will get it in my next bag- don't forget to redeem those points!
