Finally time to get to my Birchbox this month! I've had it awhile but hadn't had time to peruse all the other boxes and I like doing that before I review! Now that I have, let's take a look!

What is it?: Every month you receive a box of 4-6 beauty and lifestyle products. Each month there are about 30+ different boxes that you might be sent which makes each month a surprise. Birchbox is a great forum to learn about and discover new products and brands. Birchbox has a points system given when a subscription plan is purchased, reviewing products, and buying full-size products in their shop. Every 100 points can be used as $10 off. VOESH- Collagen and Vitamin E Hand Mask: My favorite item in my Birchbox this month! It's a pre-mani treatment so I can feel like I'm getting a professional mani done at home! I'm planning on giving myself a new mani on Thursday so I'll use this then! I'm so excited for this! Price: $6.67
Yes to Blueberries- Cleansing Facial Towelettes: Stop sending me face towelettes!!! My skin and them don't mix. The ones that don't give me a rash are bleh anyway- why use a wipe and make your face feel weird and dried out when you can just wash it and get clean skin? Ok, I'm ranting- I really don't have anything against this and I like the brand but I keep getting these things and I can't use them and I wouldn't even if I could- argh. People got beautiful lipglosses and I got rash-inducing wipes. I'm just jealous.

Coastal Scents- Eyeshadow Sample Palette in Thrill Ride: So, CJ took pics of this and didn't take a pic of it opened aka without a giant sticker... Anyway, I got a palette sample like this in Ipsy once so I was familiar with the brand. I love the day to night look idea but these colors are super dark. I usually wear light rose during the day and while I have the goal to expand with eyeshadow I really haven't yet and too dark always looks freaky on me. The golds are alright but they too are a lot. It's ok but of the 4 I only wear one shade. And that one is rare too. Price: ~$0.60
Side Note: Those wondering about my pricing- you can buy the same set (minus one brush) from Coastal Scents that is on Birchbox for WAY less. It's $40 on Birchbox and $13 on Coastal Scents' site... I did my math based off the WAY cheaper one direct from the brand's site- I usually just go straight from Birchbox's prices but this was such a big difference I did something different.
Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Hedge Fund: I was excited to get one of these polishes from Birchbox! It's an exclusive. Of all the colors they sent out (or offer) only one didn't look good to me. Hedge Fund. Oh. Argh! I really wanted Delirium (a purple) or the red or pink, they looked sooo good. I didn't want a green-ish color- focus on the "ish" part. If it was green it'd be ok, even if it was mossy, I might live with it, but it's weird and doesn't know what it is. I was so happy to see something other than color club and then I got a color I probably won't ever use. Boo. Full-size. Price: $10
Yes to Grapefruit- CC Cream: Yes to Grapefruit is great. Their face wash I got from Birchbox was amazing. I am not a CC Cream wearer though so this is bleh to me. I've been trying to use it more and woah does it ever make your face feel slimy and gross- I love my primer and BareMinerals- I don't like how CC creams seem to melt off my face. Geez. It seems like I am in such a bad mood! I do appreciate that they sent two colors and since I like the brand I'll try it. This was the Beauty Extra anyway so not a big item.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan of my September box either. I got the foot scrub (which isn't something I'll use) and the curl keeper, both in foil packets, the Caudalie hand lotion (which has a really strong smell that makes my nose burn), the polish in Hedgefund (I actually like the color, but I never paint my nails), and the sugarbomb lipgloss, which was the only product I was really excited about. October was a zillion times better though, so I'm hoping November will be good as well.
