September Birchbox Man Review

Last day to enter my Fancy Box Giveaway!

Since coming back to blogging from being sick I tried to post August and September boxes simultaneously- the point being September boxes wouldn't go up late- they would go up as I got them... Somehow Birchbox Man got away from me! This box comes WAY early in the month and the October sneak peek vid is already up! This was CJ's second real box and I was once again late out of the gate! CJ loves this new sub so let me at least show you the goods he got!

First look

CJ got Box #11* this month out of 12 (I think there were only 12).

1899- Histories de Parfums: CJ says this is the best cologne sample he's gotten. Smells old fashioned but in a good way... He really liked it so we might use my points (and moolah since it's quite expensive) to buy him a full bottle. Favorite part of this month's Birchbox Man for CJ which is a complete surprise.
Price: $4.17

LUXE City Guides- New York: It's cool. Honestly, I'm a big researcher when it comes to trips and have been to NYC soo many times (via audition trips) so I know a lot about NYC BUT it's still a cool thing. CJ really liked the design and while it may not necessarily be practical for us, it's still a cool item to have.
Price: $9.99

Vitamine and Sea- Shave Cream: CJ has actually been using this as a pre-shave lotion (like a primer) as opposed to shaving cream and puts a lather on top of it. Might not be exactly what it's supposed to be used as but it fits the bill. It makes his skin feel great and is a great prepper. He's used it to the last bit- lasting about 4-5 shaves. Price: $1.29

VitaMan- Face and Body Cleanser: I asked him how he felt about this and he said, "good." Sooo helpful CJ. Elaborate... He liked the citrusy scent and the aloe in it is nice as well as the tingly sensation from the citrus oils. Nice sample. Price: $5.60

Topo Designs- Dopp Kit: Some of the other Birchbox Man boxes got passport cases that were really nice and I was definitely jealous... for CJ. This is a nice Dopp kit (Colorado-made-woot!) but he has an AMAZING one from a Bespoke Post box that he uses and loves. This one seems more outdoorsy (fits the theme) so I guess it could go into camping gear but we haven't camped since we moved to Texas. The camo is sooo not our style either- we think we're gonna send it CJ's dad who would be all about this orange/camo duo. Price: $25

*Btw we can't complain about the big product pick in our box since we were lucky enough to get the apron last month which CJ wears all the time and is perfect for grilling.

Verdict: This month's Birchbox Man came out to a value total of $46.05, over twice the $20 price! Gah! I'm so jealous! Why can't Birchbox (the Women's version) have this kind of value and awesomeness and lifestyle items?!? Ok, breathe. Seriously though, Birchbox Man is awesome. I'm only bummed CJ didn't start getting it earlier! Even though we didn't get out fav lifestyle item, CJ's dad will love the dopp kit and we will look like the perfect kids (I'm practically their daughter). CJ loved the cologne and got full use of the cleanser and shave cream. Oh! And he digs the city guide. Overall, a great box. Looking forward to October!
