Perfectly Post Lip Scrub Review
When reader Rachel S. contacted me about maybe doing a review for Perfectly Posh, I was thrilled! I love trying new beauty products and it's nice to get out of the subscription box game for awhile! She sent me one of the most popular items- the Tree Hugger Lip Scrub- to check out so here's my take!Perfectly Posh is like the spa version of Mary Kay or Avon! Independent consultants sell Posh products through parties and word of mouth. I obviously didn't do a party but you can do online parties too- I have to admit, I'm interested. They have a lot of products to weed through on their site so I see how parties would be the way to go. Has anyone done a Perfectly Posh or Mary Kay etc party? I've done Mary Kay and LOVED it- I feel like this would be stellar too! Anyway, after looking online I am super interested in the Bath & Shower Bliss line of products- I love a good, relaxing bath (or shower, for that matter)!
I didn't take a pic of the box but I had to include this first peek!
They say (online) that shipping takes 10 days and I received mine in 10 days. Spot on.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Packing peanuts can be awful but they use the version made from cornstarch aka they dissolve and are environmentally friendly! And no, don't eat them, but if you accidentally did it'd dissolve! We dissolved these right up!
The card. Look at the "We offer products that:" section since I don't want to reiterate. It's nice to find a company like this that doesn't use the gross stuff and of course, isn't tested on animals!

Ingredients
The Tree Hugger Super Fabulous Strawberry Brown Sugar Lip Scrub ($13): The original Perfectly Posh lip scrub (Make Out Magic) is apparently what got Rachel S. hooked on Perfectly Posh and this product is now the big seller. I admit to being wary since I only have one lip scrub I've actually found to work- but it's also sugar scrub so I had my finger crossed. This stuff smells great and super extra bonus didn't leak which means it's not just oils- it actually has the sugar to make a good scrub!
It's hard to see but you can tell it doesn't slid down your finger. Really good news for a scrub. Some are made to smell nicer than they actually work and so it's just oils and fragrances.
Not only does it smell good but since it's made with sugar and shea butter you can actually lick it off! Really, no washing required! I washed it off since instincts are hard to ward off but I'm sure someday I'll just lick off this strawberry-candy smelling goodie.
Verdict: Ok, enough background- it smells nice, you can pretty much eat it, and it's made with good stuff- but does it work!?!? Yeppers! I'm still using it but for the review I used it several days in a row for the sake of consistency. (I don't use scrubs every day since I get lazy, not because I think it's bad to do so- sometimes I just wanna go to sleep!) I admit to having chapped lips (I use so much lipstick/gloss/tint that it's inevitable) and so I definitely need a strong scrub to ACTUALLY get rid of the light chapping and get a smooth finish. I think I have 5 lip scrubs that do NOT work in my cabinet (future post?) so I was ecstatic when day one my lips felt fresh and new after applying this. The sugars sloughed off quite a bit of the dead skin and really the best part is the the shea butter creates a slick shield on my lips. They feel glossy and moisturized after using the scrub (even if you wash it off).
I gotta say this is one of the best scrubs I've ever had and the one I'll continue to keep using. The best part is how it feels afterwards silky smooth instead of rubbed raw! I definitely recommend this specific product and want to try some other products!
Anyone else use or sell Perfectly Posh? What are your fav products??

Thanks so much, so glad you like it!!
ReplyDeleteI just went to a Perfectly Posh Party last weekend! So much fun! I didn't get a lip scrub (currently obsessed with my Lush Mint Julep Lip Scrub already...) but I can't wait to get my products!!! I got The Healer Shea Butter Skin Stick, a Snarky Bar, and a Rubby Scrubby foot exfoliator! You should look into having a party in your area! So fun and different from the typical jewelry, etc. party - plus who doesn't love skin stuff with cutesy names! :-) Love your blog...and your obsession with sub boxes!
ReplyDeleteIf you havent done so by now I would ditch the LUSH product and try perfectly posh. Its Sooooo much better and you get more for your money
