Awesome sauce

First look!

The unboxing photo was just a bunch of packing material so this looked much better!

Hand Sanitizer Spray-2 pack: I was a little nervous about this since sanitizers can smell awful but now I don't know what I was worried about! I should have known better since I love my Honest Company bug spray and it doesn't smell bad either. Kind of off topic...Anyway, this spray is great! It kills 99.9% of germs like all other sanitizers but it is free of crap! It had aloe too which I always hate in sanitizers because it makes it smell bad but all it does in this spray is make my hands feel fantastic. I love this spray- just in time for cold/flu season and perfect to throw in your purse. A+! Price: $5.95

Honest Toothpaste: I've wanted to try this since I started Honest Company and just hadn't taken the plunge yet. We definitely stock up on toothpaste at CostCo and while we still have a lot of tubes left, I couldn't wait any longer! So... I hate it. I'm sorry! It's the only Honest Company product I haven't liked so far but I am not a fan. The taste is icky and the consistently isn't thick enough. I didn't feel like my teeth got clean and I missed my whitening tooth paste! Fluoride-free is no good! Sorry but this was a no-go, glad I tried it, now I know I am not a natural toothpaste fan. Price: $5.95

Honest Dishwasher Pods: This isn't a new product for me from Honest Company, I just wanted to stock up! I love dishwasher pods- they make everything so easy- and these clean my dishes without polluting everything with toxic junk. Price: $10.95

Honest Dryer Cloths: As my hoard of dryer sheets was meeting an end I decided to buy these to give them a try... And then as I put them away I noticed another one in my closet already! Oops! It's kind of a mistake since if I would have realized it I would have tried something else, but it's not a big deal since dryer cloths last forever (unopened especially) and they will go to use eventually! Price: $6.95

Honest Company Lip Balm Trio: I was so excited to finally put this in my bundle! I got the sweet orange vanilla one is a GLOSSYBOX once and I love it. It's almost gone now so it was perfect timing to order this set. The other kinds are Purely Simple for extra relief (which I'm loving) and Lavender Mint (which smells amazing). I love this little trio. They feel amazing and the two scented ones smell sooo good! Price: $9.95

Verdict: If you didn't notice, I picked some of the cheapest items available this month and yet still got a deal on the essentials bundle with a value of right under $40. I always suggest bundling the big-ticket items to get your best deal possible but when you are in it for the long haul (like me) it's more about the products than the pricetag. This bundle was good with the exception of the toothpaste- sad panda. It's the first Honest Company product I haven't liked though, so I'm not too worried! I'm so excited about my next bundle and I've even considered moving up the shipment date (it's easy to change- I get every 6 weeks). I have the new hand soap, dish soap, new glass + window cleaner (finally!), the new (giant) tote, a candle (since I love my first one- I ordered a different scent), and the face + body lotion in my next bundle! So excited!

Use code INVITED10 to save $10 off your first Honest Company bundle (those are my links btw-please use one!). Some of my favs are the candles, laundry pods, oxy boost, Suds Up duo, bug spray, fruit + veggie wash, multi-surface cleaner, and bubble bath. Those are just a few awesome choices on top of this review-check 'em all out on my reviews page and get your first bundle now while the gettin is good!

August NatureBox Review

I've been putting this review on the back burner every-single-day! Oops! It's actually my last NatureBox (for awhile) since I made some sub box budget cuts. We do always like NatureBox- especially CJ- so I wanted to get this box up to share and better late than never!

Type: Food Box
Cost: $19.95/month includes shipping
What is it?: Every month this snack food box sends out 5 full packages of healthy snacks that taste great. These all-natural snacks are nutritionist approved and if you are unhappy you can always get a full refund. Pausing/suspending a subscription is also available. Use my link and type in promo code ADDICTION for 30% off your first box.

The box

An extra shot

Unboxing and only pic of info card I have...

Food!

I should say, first of all, that we got the surprise box, or we got the box of snacks that NatureBox chose and we put no input in at all. We might have started doing that at some point but since we'd only had a handful of boxes anyway, it was more fun to try new varieties.

Cocoa Waffle Wafers: We LOVED the lemon-whatever wafers we'd gotten before so I was pretty excited to see these... Umm, bleh. These weren't very chocolatey at all and lacked any sweetness- definitely the bummer of the box. CJ ended up eventually eating most of them but it wasn't cause he loved them.

Cherry Berry Bonanza: This mix of dried cranberries, cherries, and blueberries was a really nice mix of dried fruit. And we may be grown but we totally used them as ants on a log- and it was awesome!

Santa Fe Corn Stix: These were pretty good as a mix of tomato, green-pepper, and onion-flavored corn sticks. They weren't my favorite but CJ liked them a lot.

Sweet Blueberry Almonds: Definitely the best thing in the box! These puppies went fast! These almonds (which are always an amazing, filling, healthy snack) are flavored with natural blueberries as a dusty coating. They were super nummy. Laura approved.

Teriyaki Twists: I wanted to like this but I just couldn't get into them! I love teriyaki but these savory rice crackers weren't my jam. As always, CJ ate them. He's cool with everything.

Verdict: So, I never price NatureBox but I assume as each bag technically costs me $4 that it is worth the price in value. This month's box was kind of meh to me. Nothing exciting and the products sat in our pantry as CJ slowly ate them (except the almonds). I realized that we weren't eating them like our other snacks (and we are completely snack people- pantry full o' snacks) so I decided to cancel this sub. I called NatureBox, and of course, they taunted me with offers that were so cheap I wanted to give in but my budget was saying something else! I may re-subscribe sometime but in the meantime I'll always enjoy our time together and if I do come back I'll know what snackies to pick!

September Stunner of the Month Review

Enter my Ophelia's Apothecary Giveaway!

I've obviously been putting this one off for awhile (or to the end of the month) since I tried this new subscription service mid-September! I recently broke my long-standing pair of sunglasses and didn't have any in my reserves that I actually liked or fit right so I decided to try Stunner of the Month with their 1 month free promo code- here's my thoughts and results!

Type: Accessories Box
Cost: $9/month includes shipping
International: Yes! $5.49-$7.59 extra surcharge depending on location
What is it?: Each month one pair of sunglasses is sent out to you for a flat rate of $9. Sunglasses are chosen by the company (not you) and accounts can be put on hold. Use code trystunner for a free first month!

The box- nice simple packaging.

Ta-da!

I can't for the life of me remember if there was extra packaging included but I don't think so...

Cards + logo

Info card w/ promo code- the same one I used! So yes, it works!

I like that the sunglasses come with their own bags!

The Anacondas: I think I actually said an exasperated "Good Lord" when I opened the bag and saw these. Those are snakes on the sides- tacky snakes. Let's just say I was disappointed. I got these free so I'm not too offended but I have seen some great shades through this new sub company and I ended up with a bunch of snakes on my face. I didn't take a pic with them on but the snakes are super noticeable. It's too bad since the design is great for my face and ears- I hate smaller glasses and when I wear sunglasses I want everywhere to be covered and these babies covered that but OMG they are sooo ugly on! SOO ugly!! I can totally handle funky and weird sunglasses but these are just unattractive- boo. SO not my thing!

I'm a Stunner! Bottle Opener Keychain: This was a little extra in the box which is a nice touch. I always love extras in sub boxes since they bring excitement to the unboxing. I have a million bottle openers (including keychain ones) but it's always nice to have these around- put them in coolers and such so when you need them they will be there waiting!

Verdict: I didn't price this but the glasses and keychain definitely outweigh the very cheap $9 cost- especially when you use the code and get it free! I wish these pics captured the ugliness of these glasses but suffice it to they picked the wrong pair for me! Always fun to try new sub boxes though and I'm afraid I just had bad luck with this box this month. As I said before, I've seen better reviews and sunglasses from them. I canceled (which was easy) but I say give it a go (for free!) and see what kind of luck you have!

Use code trystunner (all lowercase) to get your first box free!

Birchbox + Jewelmint Codes!

There's two new codes out there I had to do a special post on!

Check my Codes page for other new codes- I added another one today!

Birchbox has a new coupon code for subscriptions!!! I NEVER hear about subscription codes so take advantage of this one!! Use code YEARLY99 to get a year of Birchbox for $99- that's two months free and 99 points in the Birchbox shop (1 point away from $10 off). I do the yearly subscription but didn't save this much when I signed up- this code celebrating 9 years is amazing!

JewelMint has a bunch of codes including 2 for $29.99 using code 1FORYOU and 20% off using code YOUSAVE20. The 20% off code works on Mystery Boxes and Surprise Candles! I'd been meaning to post about JewelMint and their new candles! Last time I posted on their candles I really meant to get one and then totally forgot. Payday is today though so I'm buying one tomorrow!!! These buggers melt down until you get a surprise piece of jewelry and come in the scents Day at the Spa, Apple Harvest, & Pumpkin Souffle! Which JewelMint candle should I get?!?! The mystery boxes look great too!!

*Btw the Best Seller under the Shop category show all the candles and Mystery Boxes.

September Wantable Accessories Review

I LOVED my first Wantable Accessories so I decided to keep getting this new subscription. I wear my pieces from my first box all the time! I got my first Sept box at the beginning of the month so it's been awhile... yes, I said first. This month's Wantable Accessories review is a bit of a saga. Welcome to a crash course in customer service and returns! I'll explain all and show all- but right off the bat- gotta say Wantable has AMAZING customer service!!! Oh, also, I loved my final results!

Wantable Accessories:
Type: Accessories Box
Cost: $40/month includes shipping
What is it?: Like wantable.co's beauty box this box is worth $80-$100. Every box has 4 to 5 new and unique boutique jewelry items that were hand-selected by style expert Bjorn Nasett. Experts help you in how to wear each piece which are customized to you personal style. You have the option to skip a box each month and free returns are included. Please use my link to sign up- taking the quiz and signing up is free!

Let's start at the beginning- Box #1

I signed up for Wantable Intimates (which I LOVE- see Review) and got an e-mail soon after, that a glitch from signing up for Wantable Intimates wiped my Makeup and Accessories quizzes. My Accessories box was already being "put together" so I didn't worry about it too much and was on vaca at the time. When I got home I retook the quizzes and didn't think much about it.

Until I got this...

Whaaa?!?

Everything was opposite my taste preferences. Gold. Bohemian. Studs. So weird.

The big thing was the gold. This box was put together based on a wiped quiz- aka no preferences. I contacted Wantable and they sent me my return label (returns are FREE) and put together another box to replace this one!

Enter Box #2

Ok.. still confused...

My info card showed my correct preferences- showing I dislike gold-tone jewelry and I got earrings that were described as gold-tone hoops... What?!

Very confused. The sunglasses are copper/gold rimmed too!

So, I contact Wantable in super confusion. These pieces were nice, just not for me, so I had to ask- do the preferences matter? I wrote that my info card reflected my distaste for gold but I got two gold pieces! If this keeps happening I needed to know so I can cancel.

Wantable to the rescue. I am such a stupid rarity!!! I was offered a free box once upon a time and used my brokebeautyblogger e-mail address to start a new account then I decided to just redeem it through my current (personal e-mail) account. I completely forgot about the second account I started! My accounts somehow merged together when they curated the box and even though it sent the info card with the right info they used the preferences from my empty account aka an account with NO quiz choices!

I know it's confusing but it's really just a crazy glitch that would only happen to me and it's great that Wantable figured it out! They told me to keep the second box (for FREE!) and they would delete my non-existent account and send me a box that would be my preferences.

It amounts to 2 boxes for the price of 1! I will gift the hoops and glasses but I've already worn these earrings:

Amelia Earrings: Adorable chevron studs! Price: $24

Box #3!

Unboxing!

Personal, hand-written note from the Wantable Customer Service team! So nice!

Info sheet

First peek!

All packaged very nicely!

I was already excited- this looked perfect!!!

Amanda Watch: I got a watch in my last Wantable Accessories and didn't know if I'd want another new one until I saw this watch! It's perfect. It's much more grown up than any other watch I have and so chic. I love the rectangular face (I only have round face watches) and the rhinestones add some extra bling. I've worn it several times, including last night! Price: $36

Shelly Earrings: These teardrop stone earrings are different and amazing! I've already worn them and I LOVED the look. They are set on hematite bars and they are a nice balance between costume jewels for a big dress-up night and day to day wear. I paired these with a dark blue print dress and it looked fabulous. These were past my comfort zone a bit (I love large earrings but they don't usually have stones) and now they are one of my favs! Price: $28

Emmaline Earrings: I had received bow earrings that were at a bit of a drop before in another box and I kept thinking they would be so much better as studs. Ta-da! I got my wish! I wore these two days ago and loved having a tiny, feminine touch to my pink outfit. Dainty and lovely. Love these. Price: $20

Selena Necklace: My first thought: Cool! I love the simplicity of this necklace! A double-bar silver necklace is something that you can incorporate into a ton of outfits! The bars keep it from being too dainty and add a tiny bit of edge. This piece is a perfect addition to my jewelry box! Price: $22

Verdict: This box was definitely worth the wait! Patience IS worth it! I ended up getting a box perfect for me with pieces I LOVE. I like pieces with color in them but it's nice to get a box full of silver pieces I can wear every day! The watch has become one of my new most-loved pieces and I've already got great use out of my two new pairs of earrings (actually three, including the chevron pair from the last box)! I'm so excited about my new necklace too! I ended up getting $106 in jewelry from this $36 box- and that doesn't include box #2 which I got to keep too! I think it's obvious to say Wantable is amazing! I love my box and their customer service was sooo helpful and prompt (I received replies the day of or morning after I'd write them). Thanks so much! Excited for October!!

If you want your own Wantable Accessories box please use my link to sign up- taking the quiz and signing up is free- so check it out now!
