July Juniper Review

I think one of my favorite food boxes came first this month! Yes, I know Juniper is a T.O.M. box but it's always full of such amazing treats it's hard not to call it a food box! Check out this month's yummies!

Juniper:
Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $28/month
What is it?: This company which started up in 2013 delivers a deluxe box complete with your choice of tampons (20+), pads, pantyliners plus treats! Juniper begins each subscription registration by choosing from the 6 brands of tampons they offer (which you get a variety of absorbency) OR pads, then you choose whether you would like backup protection (pads/pantyliners), and if you would like some Midol thrown in!  You choose the date you would like to receive the box and then the box has a phone number on it to text so they can track your monthly guest so your box will always be on time and continue customizing your box. Each box comes with a bevy of treats including honey sticks, chocolate, tea, snacks, etc! You get a starter box to begin and after that you work with Juniper to customize based on your needs.

From Lynn- Juniper's WIC (Woman In Charge): So here's the new referral program: if your reader mention your blog name "Broke Beauty Blogger" during sign up, they get their first pack at a 50% off discount. It's an easy way to try out Juniper, and if they like it, they can continue their subscription. :) This offer is good until August 31, 2013.

Juniper's box!

The info card. Lynn writes the most hilarious cards and I love the professional pics on the back- this month has 2 woman-started companies!

First look!

J&M Key Lime Cookies: Yeah!! I love when Lynn puts in extra from previous months and my fav from June's box was this delicious bag of cookies. I love these things! I'm on some sort of Lime kick right now (have you tried those Fruttare Lime Popsicles?) and these satisfy that craving plus they are beyond delish!
Price: $1.75

This month's bag of goodies!!

Rip van Wafels Caramel Filled Amsterdam Waffle: Why have I never had an Amsterdam Waffle before? Sooo good. I tried a bit of this (still couldn't over-indulge at the time) and it was so yummy! I would've eaten it all myself but my roommate (who spent a yr in Amsterdam) was psyched to see this and I wanted to share! The caramel filled idea is not a common thing in Amsterdam but it should be since it's delicious! It would be perfect with a hot drink (as suggested)! Juniper gave use a 15% off coupon to their products so maybe I'll splurge... at some point. Price: $1.50

Dang Coconut Chips: YESS!!!! I got these in a Hammock Pack box and discovered their spectacularness! They have three ingredients total: salt, sugar, coconut. And they are amazingly sweet and delicious. I wish I knew where to buy these locally since I could devour these low-cal treats on the regular. Dang, they're good! Price: $3.20

Teatulia Teas: Teatulia is one of my favorite tea brands. Mmm. Love 'em. The white tea is new for me though so that's cool. Honestly, I just love getting all these individual tea bags. We always have sooo much variety to pick from! Price: $2.50

Fisher Honey Bee Honey Sticks: Three new honey sticks to treat myself with. This month came with watermelon, pina colada, and strawberry. All good but I particularly loved the watermelon one. Mmm.
Price: $0.35

Torn Ranch Chocolate Chip Cookies: Little choco chip cookies! Gotta be honest, these weren't too exciting. Not really flavorful or chewy. I wish I would've listened to Lynn and used these for mini ice cream sandwiches! Damn my stupidity! Oh well, they were a welcome treat in the house. Price: ~$3

Heliotrope Black Fig Cardamon Massage Oil: These little massage candles are pretty cool. The candle melts down into a hot oil for massages. Pretty awesome. This smell isn't great but I think it'll be better when lit. Nice saucy/relaxing inclusion in this box. Every gal needs a massage! Price: $6

Protection: My supplies exactly to my specification arrived just as usual. Your Juniper BFF e-mails you prior to the shipment to make sure you are getting exactly what you want aka what type/how many/etc.
Price: $8

Midol: Again, these go in my purse and/or my medicine closet. I would say I had a nice collection except they get used pretty frequently. I love being the person who always has you covered! Price: $0.58

Verdict: As always, I got a TON of stuff from Juniper! The protection supplies cost varies depending on each person's preferences but my total box value ended up being about $27 or a dollar under the price of this box. Considering the shipping cost of a lot of these unique items you are definitely covering the cost of this box especially when you include the comfort and ease of having this shipped discreetly to your door each month. I loved the Dang chips and key lime cookies (and as always the tea and honey) and I'm gonna be on the look-out now for Amsterdam waffles! It's a fun box but I admit being ready to get back to the luxurious, sometimes fatty, and sweet boxes that were sent out in the fall/winter months. I always love Juniper though, what can I say, I'm spoiled by them.

Again, Juniper has a new referral program for the next month! Mention my blog- "Broke Beauty Blogger" and you'll get 50% off your first box!  Offer good through Aug 31st!

  1. I signed up for Juniper yesterday and I e-mailed them because they didn't have the brand I normally use. I received an e-mail from Lynn today informing me they ordered my brand. That's awesome customer service!
