June Pretty Power Box Review
I reviewed a special pre-opening Pretty Power Box a bit ago and was lucky enough to be sent their grand opening box as well. They launched in June and like I've said a million times, June was crazy sauce for me so I'm getting to it now since it was one I really wanted to post in June!Type: Lifestyle Box
Cost: $15/month
What is it?: Pretty Power Box is the subscription box for the female entrepreneur! The mission of Pretty Power Box is to encourage young female entrepreneurs to live a healthy work-life balance. So in each box you'll find entrepreneurial/office items, beauty items, healthy choice items, and items made from small business. Each box will be a combination of popular name brand items as well as items from smaller businesses.
For those who ask about my manicures (at-home ones) here ya go. A polish from Julep with a polka-dot nail.
Love the packaging! I'm actually keeping this box and it is currently packed up in my suitcase ready to go. I think I will find uses for it or may use it for re-shipping a gift.
More first look pics as well as the info card.
belVita Breakfast Biscuits: I get that one of their things with the box is empowering businesswomen and that means fueling them but this was the big meh product in this box. I usually do Breakfast-on-the-go but it's usually my fav Fiber 1 90 cal bars. Love 'em. Anyway, haven't eaten this yet since it's high calorie for a breakfast bar but it'll come in handy one day. Price: $0.60
Emerson Soap Co. Peppermint Handsoap: Woah, this smells amazing. Seriously, it's amazing. I usually don't do bar soap but I like having it in the house if it smells good or for guests and this smells soooo good. Naturally made and super long-lasting scent. Am I keeping this? No. Why? Because a roomie here snatched it and he used it up! (With my permission btw)! Hand soap/body soap- it is great and it still smells like peppermint! Talk about a pick me up smell! Price: ~$10 (This etsy shop is on vaca aka no prices listed right now!)
The Artisan Bucket- Mini Journals: These baby journals are another product from an etsy shop which means handmade and unique. They are tiny and the graphic of the candle is meh to me but I carry a pretty small but stuffed purse which always has a little notebook in it so these will be perfect for me. Price: ~$4
Pretty Power Box Pen: I can't tell if this pen was made by the same etsy shop as the journals since it's a bit unclear in the info card but anyway, it's specifically for Pretty Power Box subscribers since it is branded. It's actually a great pen. I can't have enough pens and office supplies so I'm all for this. Price: ~$1
Beemy Lipbalm by Hortons Farms: This balm from a honey farm is beeswax-tastic. Woah, so corny. Really though, it's a great balm and and it's all-natural. The ingredients are even antibacterial and therapeutic which is craziness. I'm loving this balm. Price: $3.50
Infinity Bracelet- JAL Jewelry: I can't explain exactly why, but I love this bracelet, like super love it. I've worn it a bunch and I rarely wear bracelets! A lot of her stuff is super cute but for some reason this bracelet is perfect. It's really different, maybe since it's not black or silver but more of a grey (?) but I love the unique qualities, and it fits great. It's stretchy so it should fit loads of people, it is comfortably loose on me (how it should be) but I could see how petite wrists wouldn't fit this. I don't know what else to say, I just love fun items like this! Price: $7
Verdict: This $15 box ended up being worth $26.10 and even without the estimated cost of the soap it would pay for the box especially when you consider 4 (maybe 5?) products were from private shop vendors and so you would pay more in individual shipping. Anyway, the belVita is super meh with me but I loved the bracelet and will use the balm and writing stuff. I would've used the soap too but a roomie used it, which is great too, it's like I gifted it! Seriously, that soap smelled sooooo good! No, the box wasn't as impressive as their blogger review shipment but I completely expected that and so I was pretty impressed with this box. It's a great idea, especially having women vendors as well, and I can't wait to see what is coming with this subscription.
Disclaimer: This box was provided to me for free for review purposes, and no other gift was supplied to me and all opinions (as always) are 100% my own!
I got one of these too... (I have no self control). I'm glad to see your review because it said bracelet on the info card, but I actually got an infinity necklace! Still super cute, but it's on a chain instead of a beaded bracelet.
ReplyDeleteCool info - I want to get a box too!!
