June Bestowed Box Review

Bestowed Box is a healthy food box that I've wanted to try for forever! So I was super psyched to get this box to review! I wish I could've posted earlier but yaknow... Anyway, this box was jam packed full of products to be a healthier you AND they gave me my own $5 off code just for my readers, score!

Bestowed:
Type: Food Box
Cost: $19/month includes shipping
What is it?: Every month, Heather Bauer, celebrity nutritionist and author, will hand-pick 5+ nutrition and lifestyle products to be delivered straight to you. Each box will include the products as well as an overview of each one, why it was included in the box, how to integrate it into your life, and where to purchase. My readers can use code 5OFFBSTOWED01 for $5 off.

Zee box! And to clarify to my housemates, it's bestowed NOT best to wed. Although that could definitely be a bridal box.

Loads of stuff!

Info sheet. This shows 1/4 of the info you get with this box. You get info on each product in two sections, "why we love" and "two tips." This way you read the usual info card stuff aka why we included this product AND how you should integrate it into your life. It even mentioned Bon'App which is a great App for food journaling.

Zico Natural Coconut Water: I admit that I've never tried coconut water. It was a bit of a craze for awhile and now it's a standard for getting electrolytes into your body in a healthy way (no, Gatorade is NOT healthy). I've always wanted to try this and was planning on giving it my first go at home either as a post-workout help or just as a plain ol' drink. Well, I'm a giver and instead gave it to my roommate after she ran in the local 4-mile race for the 4th of July. How could I not? She loves drinking coconut water, especially after work-outs and Zico is a great brand. CJ picked some up for us and I'm excited to get back into running (and post-workout coconut water sipping) now that I'm back home! Price: $2

GimMe Seaweed Cheddar Cheese Roasted Seaweed Snacks Crumbles: This was so strange to get for me since it was the second thing of seaweed I had gotten in a box (I'll get to the 1st one in a review this week). This large bag totals 100 cals for the entire bag! Btw I am not a seaweed fan. I love sushi but that was only a past 5 yrs discovery. Seaweed is not my jam. This is not bad at all but not something I would buy on my own. I'd rather have the snack version of dried pieces then crumbles but I like the idea. A housemate used this on top of meals and approved it. Price: $1.92

Artisana Organic Foods SuperFood Acai Berry Nut Butter: What? This is awesome! I LOVE peanut butter and for some reason am not a fan of the 10X healthier almond butter so I was excited to try this acai/cashew butter combo. And it IS different but good! The berry really adds something extra! This would make an excellent breakfast companion. I'm sold. Price: $1.69

Dr. Praeger's California Veggie Burgers: Living for 6 weeks in a different place with a crazy hectic schedule made me a semi-vegetarian. Frozen food is usually terrible for you- high sodium and fat, etc. But frozen veggie patties are usually pretty awesome. I lived on MorningStar chik'n and veggie patties and they were awesome. I've never tried Dr. Praeger's so I'm excited to give 'em a try! Bestowed gave out coupons for a free product. Score. Going veg every once in a while is awesome AND it's super low-cal. Awesomeness. Price: $4.99

ROOTS by Deeply Rooted: Superfood Powder Packets: Yes! Why have I never heard of these before? These sound amazing! CJ and I get Wheatgrass every once in awhile, but I'll admit, it tastes awful and we don't have the diligence to grow any ourselves. These packets provide a days' worth of vitamins and nutrients in one glass! Yes!! Water and a packet gives you everything that schnasty green juice could give you. Lovin' it. Price: $3

Herban Essentials Mini Pack: I can't decide what my favorite thing is from this box? Why? Because I also love this. This bag of 6 different towelettes is awesome. All natural, antibacterial, and aromatherapeutic? Love it! The lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, and lemon towelettes all have aromatherapy aspects and can be used for different reasons to boost you up or relax. And then there are the amazing yoga and pet towelettes! Pet towelette? Yes! We got bath mitts for our pup (very similar) and it's awesome. And anyone who does yoga knows how gross the mat can become! Super interesting.
Price: $10.50

Bakery On Main Coconut Cashew Truebar: I'm all about energy bars and granola bars. I may have said it before but I live on FiberOne bars. I love 'em. These bars are low sodium, dairy free, Omega 3 and fiber rich too! And did I mention non-GMO? Love it all. It's pretty low cal too! Plus cashews are so yummy! Price: $1.53

Verdict: This $19 box ended up being valued at $25.63 so well worth is ($10 more if you use my code!). I was not a fan of the seaweed but otherwise it was a really great box full of a huge variety of products. I love a food box with amazing new products (seriously, that roots stuff???) and of course I need some yummy things like the bar and nut butter. I need my nummy stuff! I can definitely see myself subscribing to this box (post-summer of super brokeness)! What do you guys think? Don't forget to use my code: 5OFFBSTOWED01 for $5 off!
