Make Cheese Inc Box Review
Check out their Best of 2012 Kickstarter slideshow to see some of their major accomplishments! You may have heard of Kickstarter recently because of the mega campaign by Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas to make a Veronica Mars movie. (Excited)
Did you see Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry- the documentary that won the Jury Prize at Sundance last year? I did, it was awesome. It was also funded by Kickstarter.
Anyway, I have funded 9 projects although 1 wasn't successful and another probably won't get the amount of pledges either. Of those 9, 4 are food related. I can't help myself. Kickstarter is great because you don't just invest some money, a lot of times you great products back. And you get those products before the general public can get them. That brings me to this post. I love food and I love subscription boxes so when I saw Make Cheese Inc.'s page, I was sold! Boxes sent out to make your own cheese- how fun- especially in party settings. This was a very popular project that went over 100% of their goal! Check out the page for background, etc here.
I was sooo excited to get this in the mail!
The unboxing revealed another box! This is adorable.
My pledge included getting the Mozzarella Cheesemaking Kit. For the record, they had everything! Brie, Feta, cream cheese, marscapone, etc, etc. On their site they already have some kits ready for sale to the public!
Lotsa Motsa!
The second unboxing! The info includes directions with pictures and varieties etc! Her Kickstarter campaign also sent out a video on how to make it- this kit makes it incredibly easy!
The contents. Ok, my camera DIED while taking this pic and I have no clue where my charger is! Anyway, there is enough equipment and ingredients for 30 batches of cheese. THIRTY!!! That's a lotsa mozza! All you need is milk! This is awesome.
I am so excited for this and considering my payment that helped this company get started was as much as the kit would cost now makes it well worth it. I got to help someone and help myself in a way (thirty batches!). This made me be in a mozzarella mood so before making this we bought some mozzarella for caprese. So excited for some time to make this together with CJ. These kits would make fun dinner party items too. I am a very happy cheese-loving gal.
I can't wait to see/read about how it turns out. How long does it take?
ReplyDeleteI think we are making it today! I will do another quick post with how it works- it looks amazing!
DeleteThanks for the blog post! Great writing - you are helpful and thorough! Let us know how you get on with your mozza.
