April Ipsy Review
Woot! My Ipsy bag came! A lot of my boxes have been in no-man's land this month so I was excited to finally get something! I already knew the products and theme this month BUT there were THREE items that were this or that items so I was still in the dark a bit- enough talk- let's check it out!
Ipsy:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Created by some of the top beauty bloggers/youtubers around, Ipsy subscribers receive a Glam Bag (a cute makeup bag) monthly with deluxe samples and full-size make-up products (usually 4-5 products). Ipsy sends out the same bag to everyone every month with some small differences usually based off of the Beauty Quiz you take when you sign up. Ipsy gives you a forum to load videos and pictures featuring looks made with your Glam Bag. Sign up now as memberships are open right now and please use my link!
The good old giant pink envelope- with a new addition- I like the printed ipsy on it!
The details- info cards and invites and such.
Maybe I just like this collage thing but here's multiple bag pics. Top row is full- bottom is empty.
I'm a fan of the surprise element of this bag (the stripes inside) but the bag isn't my fav that they have sent.
The schtuff! Pretty in Pink is the theme... hmm
Big Sexy Hair's Powder Play: This was a this/that product with the other option being their soy renewal product. I wanted the soy renewal one since I didn't want another dry shampoo- but uh, I'm dumb. This is a volumizing & texture powder. Powders work so much better on my hair than sprays do so I will definitely give this a try! I got a hairspray from ipsy that was sexy hair too and it is one of the best hair spray's I have had. Price: $2.10
Sation Nail Lacquer for Ipsy in Love at First Bite: I have to admit, I didn't love this color when I saw pics online but I kind of love it in person. It is so different from everything I have now and looks light enough to use as a nude shade! I always love an exclusive too so that is a big plus. I admittedly have NEVER heard of this brand before but I'm hoping I love it since it is super affordable. This is full-size too! Price: $5
Be a Bombshell Blush in Sweet Cheeks: If you remember back in Feb, I got my first Wantable.co box that had a Be a Bombshell blush in it, it was the Beach Please shade. And I love it- really I do! I wore it yesterday! Well, this ipsy bag sent out two varieties of this blush and one happened to be Beach Please. Now, I love it, but I did NOT want two of the same shades! So I was soooo happy to see Sweet Cheeks in my bag! Now, it is hard to photograph the color but while Beach Please is very pink, this one is more coral. I'm sure I'm gonna love it! And yep- full size! Price: $16
Two Cosmetics Heartache Duo Eye Shadow: Another win for me! This was the last this/that product and while people are raving about the Mineral Eyeshadow powder from Mica (which I did think looked pretty), I don't use eyeshadow powders much. Plus this totally fits the color palette I have been using lately- a bit on my lid should make my blue eyes pop! Full-size again! Price: $5.75
Verdict: All totaled this bag came to $28.85- definitely not their highest price tag but still close to 3X what you pay. This bag had 3 full-size products which is pretty amazing for a $10 bag. Seriously, no other $10 box sends you full-size stuff! I am really happy with what I got. At first, I kinda thought this bag was a bit empty but I am much more happy with full-size products than a bunch of tiny samples. All this is super usable for me and I should mention that, of course, the little makeup bag will get used too! Ipsy has been super impressing me lately- here's hoping they keep it up!

You definitely received a lot of great goodies! I had ipsy for a few months and then canceled because the products weren't for me. I'm keeping my eye on them though!

Do you know if they have a referral program?
ReplyDeleteThat don't- boo. I wish they did but no go- they just added gift subscriptions which makes it seem like they are growing their box- maybe a referral program is in the future.
DeleteI received the mica eyeshadow, soy hair stuff, and the other blush color and I lOVE everything!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Isn't the blush excellent? That color looks scary but it's awesome on.
