April Love With Food Review

Woot- my Love with Food box came yesterday! I ended up extending my 3-month sub for another 3 months since I so badly wanted to try this month's box! It was curated by Andrew Zimmerman so I was expecting some wild and crazy stuff- while it wasn't as zany as I was expecting, there were some great finds and stuff I had never heard of before!

Check out my current Giveaway here!

Love with Food:
Type: Food Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Get a box filled with gourmet samples each month. Taste the deliciousness and then buy your favorites at their store for large discounts. One of the best things about Love with Food is that they donate a meal to a hungry child for every box bought- 50,220 meals donated thus-far. Use my referral code which gives me money that I can (and will) use to donate to their charity. Use promo code FBGIFT to get your first box free (just $2 for shipping)!

Check it out- the box was literally bursting! So excited to see what was too big to even fit in this box!

Info card- like I said, Andrew Zimmerman curated this one!

The goods!

Organic Fennel Pollen from Pollen Ranch: Ok, this stuff smells amazing- CJ could not get over the smell. It has a Fennel Pollen Pork recipe on it too- I say recipe loosely- it's "rub this on pork." Anyway, I have never heard of or had fennel pollen and I love finding new things! I think their dill pollen looks really great too! Price: $0.53

Salty Pepper Nuggets from Somersaults Snacks: Once upon a time, CJ and I bought another kind of this brand from Whole Foods so I was at least familiar with this brand. CJ loves the packaging and the product. I like it too- but he was definitely more partial to them. These munch 'ems are made with sunflower seeds and toasted grains. Price: $0.79

Lemony Lover Olives from Oloves: Ok- here's a semi-weird thing. I mean, how often do you buy snack olives? I don't like olives so I gave this to CJ. He convinced me to try one and I admit they tasted pretty good. No real brininess, just lemony, garlicy, and a bit salty. Price: $1.59

Sea Salt and Original Cocomels from JJ's Sweets: YES!!! So excited to see these! I got two originals in my Juniper box this month and absolutely LOVED them! So much in fact that CJ didn't get a chance to try them- I shared this time around and they were just as amazing as I remembered. CJ was floored too with how great they are. Both tastes were great- CJ preferred the Sea Salt and I am torn between the two. Ah it is soo good! I looked up where to find them in stores and what do you know? Colorado (my home state) has it in a billion places and Texas? Just two. One happens to be in Denton where I will be going tomorrow- a pit stop at the store that carries this seems to be in order. Need any more convincing with how good these are? CJ said they are the best caramels he's ever had! I think I agree! Price: $1.60

Air Popped Sorghum Grain from Mini Pops: Another product I had NEVER heard of. Popped sorghum? Really? These things are tiny! It's like eating baby popcorn! CJ loves popcorn so I knew he'd love this and I did too. This bag is only 100 calories and has a million pieces in it. This doesn't have hulls that gets stuck in your teeth and throat (ya they are called hulls- who knew?) and they have less sodium, calories, and fat than corn, plus they have more calcium, protein, and iron! Price: $1.21

Smoky Chili & Lime Chickpea Snacks from The Good Bean: These spicy snacks are made from chickpeas and have all the good things going for them! I'm trying to do the non-GMO thing so I liked that all the stuff in the box was too (I think so, if not, most was). Haven't dove too much into these yet but the trial bite was definitely a good one and CJ approved as well. Price: $3.16

Creamy Buffalo Ranch Dip from Buff Lo Dip: Aha! This was the culprit making the box be stuffed full. And I am so glad they jammed it in! Buffalo Ranch Dip?!? Yes, please. I tasted it and it is creamy and delicious. I have a feeling this will be dangerous. Price: $0.64

Verdict: All totaled, this box was worth $9.52. I may have got something wrong cause that seems off but really I think it is because the good people behind buff lo dip do NOT charge enough- seriously $0.64 for that giant sample??!? Anyway, I thought it was worth the buy. I thought it was a good Love with Food box but not really what I was expecting. Where was the chocolate covered bug or something crazy like that? I mean I love those cocomels but I don't really consider them to be from a Weird and Wild food guy. Ah well. All in all I am happy- I got some yummies and found some new products.

    1. Sorry! I tried to check it but it's kind of difficult when you already have a subscription! There is a code though for the $2 box deal- FBGIFT! That should work- hopefully you see this!
