April Hammock Pack Review

If you read my March Review of Hammock Pack, you know how much I loved my first box! I raved enough about it that Hammock Pack so nicely offered to sponsor a giveaway and give one of my readers April's Box! How cool is that? Well, they went a step farther and offered to pair the giveaway box with one for me! SCORE! How awesome of a company! I was really excited and intrigued about this box- their hints on their tumblr were San Fran related... although I was hoping a bit that it was Full House related...

Last Day to enter my current Giveaway!

Hammock Pack:
Type: Lifestyle Box
Cost: $25/month + $5 shipping
What is it?: From website: "Every month, you’ll receive a surprise pack filled with everything you need to take a much-needed getaway without even leaving your home. Whether it’s as simple as a movie night or mementos from that exotic vacation you can’t find the time to take. So relax and let a little “me time” come to you." Some previous themes have been Sailing, Italy, Camping, Bed & Breakfast, and Beach Day.

The box, the box, the box!

There was a sweet Postcard to announce the theme- San Francisco!!

The info card- this month is all about some awesome finds in the Bay Area, score!!!

TA-DA!!! Just kidding...

Now that's more like it!

People Towels- Hand Towel: Monterey, CA: Ok, for us this was a SUPER score!! Why, you ask? The day before I got this- yes, the day before- we were looking online for reusable paper towels! We ended up buying some microfiber reusable (aka washable) swiffer pads and swiffer duster things but didn't find a reusable power towel roll we liked. We didn't consider getting individual ones but this one is really cool! I like the tagline and it looks like people got different ones all with different quips. May not be everybody's thing but this is right up my alley. P.S. I got this on Earth Day, how perfect? Price: $6

Botanical Bakery- Shortbread Cookies: Napa Valley, CA: Cinnamon Basil Shorties? YES!!! I loooovee shortbread and I was so excited to try this strange pairing! People got different varieties- I didn't look much into the others since mine looked so stellar. Looked stellar? I should say, TASTED stellar! Oh my goodness, sooooo yummy. I devoured these- seriously, I did. One of the yummiest products I've received in a box. Price: $6.25

Double Dutch Sweets Candy Bars- the Ramona Bar: Oakland, CA: Local and organic ingredients make these wonderous bars. Taking a mid-munch pic was tough since CJ and I wanted it sooo badly. The dark chocolate had zero bitter qualities and the nougat and caramel were to die for. One of my fav candy bars ever. I should say that I have a gigantic sweet tooth and love pretty much anything with sugar in it but man this was sooo good. They also sell the Beatrice Bar that is a variation of this one. I'm considering ordering some up (of both varieties) since I'm not in the Bay Area or anywhere close... Price: $6

Hydra Soap- Shower Burst: San Fran, CA: I was psyched to see this since I've wanted to try a shower burst since I heard of it's existence! It's the efficiency of a shower with the awesomeness of a bath. I love bath bombs and bubbles and all that jazz and relaxing in a tub with a wonderful scent in the air but sometimes there isn't time! This idea gives you a lovely smell (in this case, Cedar & Rosemary) AND it can be reused since it hangs in the sachet! I tried it right away and it's still not all the way gone! It has a great scent but I do wish it was stronger. I think it needed more umph although my bf thinks it's strong enough... different opinions. Still so happy I got to try one! I'd love to try some of their other scents too! Price: $4.50

Awesome Bars- Cranberry Trail Mix Energy Bar: San Fran, CA: First off, that website? Awesome domain name- just love it. This sister-run business turns out these healthy, satisfying energy bars! Compostable packaging is a huge bonus for me but really it's all about taste and it turns out this bar is delish. I just ate it, as in while typing this out, and it is was yummy and really filling. It's 300 cals which is a large amount for an energy bar (usually they are about 100 less or so) but I get it from the super fullness I am feeling right now. This would be a perfect hiking food or post-run snack. Price: $2.50

Nibnaks- Dried Fruit Snacks: San Fran, CA: I admit I haven't gotten around to giving these a go yet- whoops! I'm pretty much always a fan of dried fruit though and will always support an all-natural company. Nibnaks sources their products from local family-run farms which is pretty awesome too! This pretty large 1 oz bag is only 90 cals- which is always a win with me. Price: $2.19

Verdict: All together this box totaled $27.44 which is just about the $30 cost of the box. It would have definitely cost me more to individually ship these buggers over here to Texas! I really enjoyed this box just like last month. I loved the theme and that I hadn't heard of a single one of these businesses before! The Ramona Bar was probably the belle of the ball since CJ and I were both in love with it. We are psyched with the eco-towel and shower burst and I love food sooo much so any good nibbles are appreciated. Last month was supposed to be my "try" month with Hammock Pack and then I was graced by this box too. I can't help it now, I'm hooked! It seems dumb to not continue a box that I love so it looks like I am signing up for a longer sub!

Disclaimer: This box was given to me for free in conjunction with a sponsored giveaway. All opinions are 100% my own!

  1. Ramona Bar, Awesome Bar, and Nibnaks. I dub this appropriately Bay Area. Though it lacks Tcho Chocolate so these things make me sad. Glad you enjoyed it! Now to hunt down where I can get that shower sachet...

  2. I got the Lemon-Thyme cookies. I don't like thyme, but I tried one anyway and at first I thought it was good because all I could taste was lemon, but the thyme kicked in in the aftertaste. I bet the other flavors were good, though.
