May Ipsy Review
If you read my Ipsy spoilers page you know how exciting this month of Ipsy looked, so you can imagine my excitement to finally see mine on my doorstep! I finally got my awesome products and can't wait to share!!
Today's the last day to enter my latest Giveaway!
Ipsy:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Created by some of the top beauty bloggers/youtubers around, Ipsy subscribers receive a Glam Bag (a cute makeup bag) monthly with deluxe samples and full-size make-up products (usually 4-5 products). Ipsy sends out the same bag to everyone every month with some small differences usually based off of the Beauty Quiz you take when you sign up. Ipsy gives you a forum to load videos and pictures featuring looks made with your Glam Bag. Ipsy now has a referral points for extra goodies so if you sign up please use my link!!
I always get so giddy when I see the big pink envelope on my doorstep!
First look!
Ipsy's info card is actually a discount card and I rarely show it but holy crap- look at all the products!!! Each person got 5 of the above products- woofta!
The bag! Not my fav but I really just cared about what was inside!! FYI I use my Ipsy bags all the time. I didn't see their uses right away but now I use them ALL the time! Price: ~$2
The inside of the bag is a nice teal and look at my goodies!
Yaby- Concealer in Buff: This was the one "worriesome" product in my bag. Everyone got a yaby concealer but who knew what color!?!? I got the color "buff" and while there was a color "vanilla" that was lighter, I think this actually will be perfect for me! I usually like concealers a little darker than my skin tone since ones that match tend to look too light and create an obvious white spot on my face. I hate saying to the world, "Ah, yes, I have a dark spot I attempted to cover up, I thought everyone should know." Double whammy on this is that it fits in the Magnetic holder from the March bag. Price: $5.06
Zoya- Blu: The next "for sure" product was one of 6 FULL-SIZE Zoya nail polishes! I thought I loved all of the nice pastel colors but I saw a review of the yellow one and realized I probably wouldn't wear that color. Well, turns out I got the best color ever! The colors show it a bit darker than it is but woah it is super gorgeous!! Can you tell I love this? Oh, and yes, my bag was so full the cardboard box got a little squished. Price: $8
St. Tropez- Instant Glow Body Lotion: This was one of the 2 of 8 products and I didn't even really look at the products because everything looked awesome. Well, my Glam Bag showed I was going to get this or a Pacifica Bronzing Body Butter. I guess they thought I needed more color? I would be bummed by a bronzer/tanner usually but overall this bag was just so good. This is a "One Night Only" lotion too so I *gasp* might actually give it a try since one night can't ruin everything. I wish I would have gotten the Pacifica rollerball but whatevs my bag was awesome! Price: $6.08
Juice Beauty- Reflecting Gloss in Pink: I knew from my Glam Bag I'd be getting one of these and I was admittedly a bit nervous! I was hoping for the Mirabella lipstick mainly because all my other Juice Beauty products have stunk, literally, they smell BAD. Well, this one smells fantastic!!! It's not sticky, looks so pretty on, and it smells good enough to eat... or lick? Anyway, I love it!!! I thought this was full-size but online it's actually 1/2 of a full-size gloss that they sell which is craziness- this definitely LOOKS full-size to me. Price: $7.50
Mirabella- Lipstick in Daydream: Ok, in the spoilers it looked like you got either a lipstick OR gloss and you get 2 of the 8 products of the other picture. That's how it worked with most other people too. Well, curveball, since I got both of the 2nd pic spoilers! SO STOKED! My Glam Bag online DID show me getting a Mirabella product but it was one of 3 and it did not contain this product. So, it may have been a mistake but no complaining here since this is perfect for me! I LOVE the color! It's gorgeous on and reminds me of a Mary Kay lipstick I once had that always made me look super professional. Gor-geous! Price: $22
Look at my amazing goodies!!
Extra! Extra! Awww yeah!! Since, some of you lovely ladies used my link to start one of my fav bags, I got this extra in my bag this month!!! It's a full-size Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow! Now, I don't have any eyeshadows from their moondust collection but I do have a few of their others and love them- Half Baked is my fav. I'd seen a few other people's "extras" and I have to say I got the BEST color! Isn't is sooo pretty?? Well, it is! It's Glitter Rock btw and looks great on. Umm, so yeah, I love you guys that used my link. Love.
Price: $20
Verdict: Uh, duh, I loved this bag. Probably my fav ever. I think Ipsy has been getting better and better each month too so I'm excited for next month... and the one after that... and the one after that... you get the deal. Ipsy was NOT my fav when I started, I repeat, not my favorite, but they seem to really listen to their subscribers and give awesome stuff. Without my awesome referral extra, I got 3 full-size products and 2 very deluxe sized samples that totaled $50.64 for a $10 bag!!!! One product ALONE paid double for the bag! I'm hoping for just as awesome of a bag in June! Ipsy subscriptions are still available btw and if you loved my bag as much as I did (yes, everyone gets variations) then sign up with my link pretty please!

I love my bag too! Everything was spot on and happy that I did not receive tanning stuff! <3

Ya, the tanning part wasn't great but who cares with all my other great stuff! Glad yours is excellent too!
DeleteI'm not sure why, since I, too, saw that initially the lip products were an either/or thing, but I don't think it's a mistake. I also got both lip products (boo - I don't use lip products). And I think I saw a video reveal somewhere with both. My bag was pretty much the same as yours, but I got the mint green polish, my gloss was "Fig" a kind of brownish nude, and my lipstick is "Charmed", a Barbie pink. Fig isn't too bad, since it's mostly nude, so that might be used if I feel like dressing my lips up beyond my normal chapstick, but man, the lipstick is bad. Bad. I normally love my bag, but this one bummed me out a bit since I specifically didn't choose lip products or tanning products in my quiz. I really wanted a roller ball perfume and either of the Pacifica lotions. I guess at least I didn't get an oil.
ReplyDeleteGood to know I'm not the only one who got the 2 lip products! The Green was the other color I would've loved btw.
DeleteI feel you on the oil, I have SO many oils from sub boxes and I never use them. Where on the quiz does it say no tanning stuff? I couldn't find that.
I'm soo sorry that the Charmed sucks. I sometimes wear a hot pink and love it but it is rarely and it took me awhile to embrace stepping out of my comfort zone. Daydream is wonderful, natural and beautiful, just enough color. If you can, you should check it out and see if you like it!
It isn't so much a place to say "Don't send me tanning stuff" as it is a place to select things you typically use. I didn't select the "bronzer" choice or the "self-tanner" choice on the 6th and 7th page of the quiz. Same with lip products. And I really don't mind getting one product I don't typically use in a bag - I'll at least try it - and usually I love my bag, but the fact that this one was 3/5 products I don't use was just a bit of a bummer to me. Certainly not enough for me to cancel. This is still one of my favorite subscriptions because it's usually mostly, if not all, makeup. And I do love that polish!
DeleteJust happened to stumble upon your blog! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI have been going back and forth on whether or not I want to start getting Ipsy bags. I always hear about good bags and bad bags. In your opinion is it worth it?
www.allthings-ally.blogspot.com
GET IT!!! It's been impressing me like crazy! Especially since January, the bags just get better and better. It's only $10 and you get really awesome products. Some people don't always love their bags but at $10 you should def give them a try and make up your own opinion.
DeleteThey just started this month to try and send stuff up based on people's preferences so there might be some issues right now while they work out bugs but judging my bag this month, I am sold!
I would suggest not to get the bag. I kept getting products in colors that would never work for someone with my hair color. The first month I got 1 item I could use, and while you can trade, I got a whole bunch of stuff that no one wanted due to color or item type. The next month I got two items I could use (only because they were the kind of thing that would work on any hair/skin color) and one lip pencil in a hideous color that didn't work my hair/skin color, one broken lid cream blush (also in a hideous color that wouldn't work) and one dry shampoo with propane.
ReplyDeleteIf you happen to be a person for whom the quiz works and you get good colors - ipsy is wonderful. If you don't? Then it's very, very frustating.
