Monday Musings

I’m BACK!! I swear I am making a commitment this week to get caught up! I am anticipating some late nights but I gotta get back in the game!

I’m in Saratoga Springs (as of last night) and even though I’m now getting down to business and getting to work I feel like I have time to work on the blog. Have you ever prepared to leave home/fam for 6 weeks? This isn’t my first time around this merry-go-round but it never really gets easier.  Cramming music and such is a little different in my case. But even though it only took a day to get ready/pack- it’s a lot of time to 1) Cram music (my own special case) and more importantly 2) Cram in some summer lovin time!

It’s super hard to leave Dallas during the end of May since when I come back it’s July and Dallas in July is heat-tastic. It’s been muggy but mainly really great in Dallas and loads of walking has occurred.

We didn’t do a lot of things we wanted to (or I didn’t get things done that I wanted) but we did do some fun, different things. Like the Drive-In. We got to see a new movie, on the cheap, AND bring the pup! I love Drive-Ins! We had one in my college town but this is the first time I’ve gone to the one near Dallas. There are 6 screens! We saw Iron Man 3 but were way too tired to stay for Oz, I felt like I was failing the Drive-In but we had a super early morning the next day. Did you know there are only 400 drive-ins left? Super sad.

Random, but because of a Groupon soon-to-expire we went to the Dallas Holocaust Museum, it was, of course, really sad, but also really interesting and different. There was even a Holocaust Survivor there who is also a big part of the museum. He was there to chat or sign books. I had no idea what to say but we got his book- he lived through 5 camps! Apparently, he’s (Mike Jacobs) there frequently, in case you want to check it out. He was such a cute old man- anyone else a sucker for that?

On a similar note, I read The Book Thief this week (I read fast AND was on planes ALL day yesterday) and it was super good. Now I’m reading a book from my IndieSpensable box…

Speaking of boxes… I have so many to review- so many GOOD ones to review! Besides IndieSpensable, I have the familiar faces Bulu Box, BarkBox, TheFancy Box, RocksBox, LootCrate, Treatsie, and Bespoke Post to blog about AND newbies Ophelia’s Apothecary, Kona Kase, and my first Influenster Box the Spring Fever VoxBox.

I still have yet to get The Jungle Stand, GlossyBox, AND a NatureBox is on its way. Phew, I’m tired. I need to throw in my match-up, and maybe a Goods post, and maybe even a favorites of May post. Ooo and a Subscription Box packing post- you be so excited to see how I used all my stuff for this trip. This stuff comes in handy!

Oh, and there is a giveaway this week too! Hint: it’s a month of a box I have left to review for May!
