Nail Art Society Review

This is a bit of a tough-y to label since this isn't technically Nail Art Society's April box. So you remember my March review? Let's say it wasn't the best- I got a box that I definitely didn't expect and was bummed by  what I got. Tia V. from Nail Art Society left a comment on my post asking for feedback. That's it-feedback. I was bogged down by stuff and eventually wrote to her telling her my disappointments and that I was happy that they lowered the prices by $10. She wrote me back saying how thankful she was for the feedback- I responded with praise for great customer service in replying and how I appreciated her reaching out to me! She said she/they strive to make a great box and even offered to send me different materials from the April kits! Turns out I really got a preview of what will be in May's kits! Alright- enough blab- I'll explain as I go!!

*Update- this is officially EVERYTHING that comes in the May box!

Check out my latest Giveaway!

I wasn't sure what I was getting since it was a composite of all the April stuff but I did NOT expect such a GIANT package!

Woah. I had looked at April reviews and was excited to get some Nail tape. I didn't get any, instead I got a crap load of stuff! I used my nail dotters for the first time and have on the strips from the last NAS kit (pic below) and am ALL for nail art right now so I was ecstatic to get all these products!

Ok- so I cut my nails WAY too short and I should have taken a pic of the better nails but I'm still proud of myself. This was my first ever attempt at nail strips!!! The pinkies never really stuck but I like variants in my nails anyway so I painted three of my nails silver. By variants I mean all 10 nails aren't the same. Like when I had pink nails with white dots I only dotted my left thumb and right pointer finger.

On to the actual products!

Kiss- Nail Dress: After finally applying my first nail strips I am SO stoked to use these!!! I love that there are 28 strips instead of 20 for different sizes and backups. I am in love with the black with gold. Those are going on next week for sure!! Maybe with a dark purple nail too? Price: $13.98 ($6.99/box)

Kiss- Marbleizing Pen & Polish: I am in LOVE with this. I love marbled nails but know I will suck at the whole marbling technique. I've watched the videos, seen the tutorials, but I know the water bowl will turn into a mess and my nails even more so! I do want to figure it out some day but this pen will give me that step in the right direction. Purple is my fav too so this is great! I love that they actually sent out polishes too! One critique I sent NAS was that their March kit seemed to not be suitable for novices so I like that they are going in that direction- I mean an instructional booklet is included! Price: $9.99

Kiss- Nail Artist Flat Stickers: I haven't used stickers before but I will give these a try- they are small and not too in your face! Another complaint from before were the over-the-top 3D stickers. I know they sent out Bow stickers that were more 3D in the April Kit and they were super cute. Not too high and not too crazy. Again, I like this new direction for this subscription box. Price: $2.75

Kiss- Nail Artist 3D Charms- Thank you!!!! Why the thanks? Because THIS time the 3D stuff came with instructions and glue! This is more like it! AND the charms aren't too big. Thank goodness. I'm still too frightened by 3D Nail Art to try this... yet.... but I'm hoping to get there! Price: $2.99

Kiss- Nail Artist Paint & Stencil Kit: If you couldn't tell, in NAS' revamp they are really focusing on and working with the company Kiss. I hadn't heard of that brand before but that means nothing since I am new to Nail Art. This kit looks really interesting. I'm hoping that once I get good at dotting I can excel at stenciling! The colors are crazy in this kit too which completely adds to the value. Price: $7

Verdict: Wow- in my opinion, this is a HUGE turnaround for this box in just a month! April subscribers got a similar Kiss kit along with Bow stickers (3D) and nail art tape, which btw I am dying for- let me tell you, scotch tape does NOT work. While looking around the web, it looked like these products are a preview of May materials so I'm guessing everyone will get one of the kits and maybe the Strips too- the marbling kit alone would pay for the box so I totally recommend giving this box a try. I'm SOOO glad NAS took the uprising of its' customers to heart (from the March box) and 1) lowered it's price 2) focused on kits with a focus, as in, do THIS to your nails, not just here's some stuff, figure it out... and 3) paired with a company to get great nail stuff out. I actually feel like I can USE this stuff and I am a total newbie at nail art. So excited. I have to thank Nail Art Society for giving me these goodies and showing me where they are going in the future.

I am way cutting back this summer while I'm working in NY and I feel pretty stocked for now but I think I'm gonna become a subscriber again when I get back in July. I love having pretty stuff on my nails and it's so fun to do and also to show off. Bravo NAS for coming back from a rough month- now here's hoping for a referral program *wink wink.*
