March Love with Food Review
My Love with Food box FINALLY came! I am having some major issues with box shipping here and so I was super relieved to finally get this box! Since it came so late I had seen about a million boxes online (might be an overstatement) and knew what to expect but I didn't know what I would think of the goodies so let's dive in!*Love with Food:
Type: Food Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Get a box filled with gourmet samples each month. Taste the deliciousness and then buy your favorites at their store for large discounts. One of the best things about Love with Food is that they donate a meal to a hungry child for every box bought- 50,220 meals donated thus-far. Use my referral code which gives me money that I can (and will) use to donate to their charity. Use promo code DISCOVERFOOD to get your first box free (just $2 for shipping)! Fab.com has a deal on LWF right now as well.
Feb 2013 Review
Love with Food now comes in a clear plastic casing but I took it off because who cares to see that? This month's theme is "Classic with a twist."
Unboxing!
The products all pretty- this box was really full- 8 treats in all.
Cosmos Creations' Salted Caramel Baked Corn: This was by far our favorite thing in the box! It's puffed corn so think popcorn but without the kernals. Salted caramel deliciousness and the bag was so full- it felt like it would never end. Definitely the star of this box for us! Price: $1.30
Mary's Gone Crackers' Wholesome Snacks: I've tried some of this brand before from my gluten-free friends and it's been good. This, however, not so much my style. When they put "Super Crunchy" on the bag, they meant it! I think I broke a tooth... ok, not even close, but for me, the taste couldn't outweigh the textural problems. Price: $1
Ola! Foods' Granola in No Nut Vanilla: I have to be honest, granola doesn't usually wow me. This wasn't crazy good but it was nice. I think we'll use the rest of it on yogurt or something. Price: $1
Wacky Apple's Flat Fruit in Wild Berry: CJ and I buy fruit strips ALL THE TIME. We like the Archer Farms brand from Target- sooo good! I prefer those over fruit leather which is what this is, it was good- not great. Price: $1
Kids 50's Fruit & Veggie Juice: I don't love fruit & veggie juices that you buy- I prefer one or the other or straight up juicing on your own. This was cute though and didn't taste bad. I think it would be amazing for kids. Price: $1.50
Emily's Chocolates' Dark Chocolate Orange Good Fortune Cookie: I had read terrible things about these but I'd wanted to try one for awhile. CJ and I both enjoyed it even though it was nothing super special but had a nice hint of chocolate and orange. Price: $1
Chocwasabi's Chocolate Covered Wasabi Peas: This was the first thing we tried- I was a little mean and shoved one in CJ's mouth before telling him what it was- his expressions were priceless though! Everyone who talked about this raved about it and I was ready to dive in. Our thoughts: meh and ick. I did not care for them but I do not like wasabi! I LOVE sushi but keep that wasabi away from me. I thought CJ would enjoy it though since between the two of us we pretty much like everything. No go though- he didn't think much of them either. Price: $1
Revolution Teas' Acai Green Tea Infuser: This infuser box is super tiny and adorable. Haven't tried it yet but I will and I will most likely like it. Price: $0.50
Verdict: This box was about $8.30- I rounded with some prices- but the price doesn't matter- food boxes are all about trying new things and discovering products. Last month's box was really great and I discovered great things in January too! This month's box was a bit of a disappointment but I think it was worth it to try everything and the discovery of the Salted Caramel puffed corn! Sooo good! LWF donates a box to the hungry with every box ordered too so that always makes it worth it! This was the last box of my 3-month sub but I think I'll add on at least to get the Andrew Zimmerman curated box for April- should be weird and exciting!
