March Juniper Review
My latest Juniper box came last week- woot! I have been excited since International Women's Day when Juniper posted that they were sending out treats from businesses started by women.Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $28/month
What is it?: This company which started up in 2013 delivers a deluxe box complete with your choice of tampons (20+), pads, pantyliners plus treats! Juniper begins each subscription registration by choosing from the 6 brands of tampons they offer (which you get a variety of absorbency) OR pads, then you choose whether you would like backup protection (pads/pantyliners), and if you would like some Midol thrown in! You choose the date you would like to receive the box and then the box has a phone number on it to text so they can track your monthly guest so your box will always be on time and continue customizing your box. Each box comes with a bevy of treats including honey sticks, chocolate, tea, snacks, etc! You get a starter box to begin and after that you work with Juniper to customize based on your needs. GET A FREE BOX: When registering, write in my blog: Broke Beauty Blogger: is how you heard of Juniper and you will receive a FREE box!

So- confession- this may be a TMI but my past two boxes weren't actually "on time." This was no fault of Juniper's though- I originally ordered the first box to review and then forgot to do their amazingly easy process of e-mailing or texting the company to set a good timeline.
I have to admit it was pretty dumb, so I contacted "My Juniper BFF" saying I actually already had my March time but I didn't want to miss March's treats so could I get my March box asap and move up my April box as well as change my protection supplies around a bit. Cue a super quick response from Lynn (My Juniper BFF) apologizing for not being set with my schedule (soo not their fault), moving my April box up, changing my April's box protection supplies, AND giving me the option to not receive tampons/etc for March.
Ok I have said it a thousand times but Juniper's customer service is THE BEST!! They don't even compare to other companies- so far above everyone else!! And trust me I KNOW! I have had contact with companies to change shipping/cancel plans/suspend/blah blah blah both before and since starting my blog and while only a few were bad none of them could ever be as amazing as Juniper. It may be because they aren't a huge company (yet) but from how they act I feel like customer service is a top top top priority!
Ah- didn't mean to go on and on- I guess I get carried away sometimes when I get on the subject of boxes! My long-winded point is that they apologized for MY laziness- so nice, changed my preferences in a snap, and since My Juniper BFF knows I have a million supplies right now she gave me the option of holding off a month until I have the need again- awesome sauce!!
Here's the card! Juniper has one of my fav info cards- which says a lot since I don't care much for the cards but I love good photography and I love their snacks layout. I said it already but this month focuses on women entrepreneurs and the card says you can look at their Facebook page to hear the stories behind the women behind the treats!
Ok I have to admit I was a bit of a stalker and I had already seen some of the treats online and was super curious about the array of treats this month. I was really excited for a couple and scared of some others and *spoiler* was completely wrong about what I would/wouldn't like. New treats in boxes ALWAYS surprise me, which is the whole reason I get these in the first place!
Let's open up that beautiful bag!
Sea + Cane Sweets' Cabernet Caramels: This was the item I wanted sooo badly. Sea salt caramels are one of my all-time favs! I didn't realize until I opened up my treats that this was a Sea-salt caramel with wine! That's right- Cabernet sauvignon caramels. What?! I immediately opened them- there were 2 included- and ate one right away. Hmm... really really different. I liked it but didn't love it. It was a nice treat but as one of the sweets in the box- I have to say these were no Marich Strawberry from the Feb box- which were AMAZING! Price: $2
BT McElrath Chocolatier's Salty Dog Bites: I've said it before but Dark Chocolate is not my first choice but I still always eat dark chocolate. Before I dove in though, I saw the "butter toffee pieces and sea salt" on the label. Uh- hello- this sounds amazing! Verdict? Awww yeah! Soooo good. Seriously I want all BT's stuff now- all their bites sound great but I have to say I would recommend the Salty Dog 100% and I want to try the Prairie Dog Bites too (like Salty Dog but with milk chocolate). Props Juniper- this was a great choice- and thanks for putting in two since I shared the second one... with myself. Price: $1.78
Anna's Honeys in Clover, Peach, and Apple: I don't want to repeat myself each month- readers should know I love that Juniper includes honey. And this month the choices were excellent. I really enjoyed all three- the Peach was especially good. Price: $0.68
Santé's Sweet & Spicy Pecans: Before I write my own thoughts this is what they info card says- word for word, in whole- "Is it PEE-cans or pi-CAANs? Honey Badger don't care!" Love it. Ok- so wasn't excited for these. Meh- pecans- plus sweet & spicy isn't really my thing. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. These were really great- think of spicy as spices not spicy as in hot. It was a great spice heat and was yum, yum, yum. Price: $1.99
J & M's Cheddar Twists- Original Cheese Straws: This was my throw-away item when I first saw it and my second/first favorite item after trying everything (I can't decide to put this or the Salty Dogs first?!?!). These taste like REAL cheese so don't expect cheez-its or goldfish (which I do love btw) and they taste like real cheese because they have real cheese. Mmm. And they work perfectly with the Spicy/Sweet theme since they have a hint of cayenne! I didn't love the cayenne at first and then I couldn't stop eating!!! The bag was actually pretty large too at 1.5 oz. If I can find these in stores I think I found a new fav snack! While looking up their price I saw they have 4 flavors including Asiago- awesome. Price: $2.10
Teatulia Tea in Peppermint, Ginger, and Lemongrass: I have to admit I haven't tried Teatulia before but I keep seeing them everywhere! These fair-trade teas look great and I am really excited for the Lemongrass and Ginger. Price: $1.38
Verdict: It's hard to value the whole box since I didn't get protection supplies so I am just going to rate these treats! It's hard to beat last month's super haul of deliciousness but I definitely found some amazing products this month. Seriously, Feb, you were amazing. I love the woman-founded focus this month too and my favs were the Cheese Straws and Salty Dog Bites (obviously) but I enjoyed trying/devouring everything. Strangely enough my favorite part of this month's box was the surprises- I love finding new favs that I didn't expect to love! Trying new stuff is why I got into subscription boxes in the first place! Solid box this month Juniper- looking forward to April!
