March Ipsy Review

Woot! Ipsy came today- now I already knew what was in the bag this month- spoilers are just soooo easy to find, but that doesn't mean I wasn't excited. There was still some mystery to colors and such and it is always a treat to see the bag up close and personal!

*Ipsy:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Created by some of the top beauty bloggers/youtubers around, Ipsy subscribers receive a Glam Bag (a cute makeup bag) monthly with deluxe samples and full-size make-up products (usually 5-7 products). Ipsy sends out the same bag to everyone every month with some small differences usually based off of the Beauty Quiz you take when you sign up. Ipsy gives you a forum to load videos and pictures featuring looks made with your Glam Bag. Unfortunately, there is no room right now for new subscribers. I'll post when there is availability again but sign up to be waitlisted on their website.

Ahh- the giant big envelope. Notice the cuts on the right side since I was so excited to dig in that I initially forgot to take a picture.

Ta-da! The inside! I super love the nautical-themed bag this month. Nautical stuff isn't really my thing but it's super cute for some reason. It's a bit tone-downed in color too- a bit dull which is different and nice. Oh and there's the card- the theme is "Great Escape."

Here's a close-up on the bag. I throw bobby-pins and lipsticks/glosses in these all the time for shows, etc. Love them. Price: ~$2

Ummm, why did you take this picture? Other Ipsy subscribers know that sometimes the inside of the bag is a cool accent color- it's not this month- if you couldn't tell. Also, the bag isn't as "full" as it usually is since two of the products are small- you'll see.

La Fresh travel-lite Makeup Remover Wipes: These would be a perfect thing for trips (Spring Break- for those lucky enough to get to go on a SB vaca) or to keep in gym bags etc. I wish I could be excited for these since I would usually love something like this for backstage (eww stage makeup) but about two years ago- bam- I became allergic to wipes. I have no idea why- it took a regime of two shows a day and wiping mega amount of stage makeup off for two weeks to figure out what was causing my face to balloon up and turn red- I was so dumb- so now for stage make-up I use cold cream. Woah- no one cares. Anyway, I think I'll pass these on to a friend since they seem super handy. Price: $1.99

Yaby Eye Shadow Refills (in azalea petal and seashell): Phew! Like I said I knew what Ipsy was sending out this month and I realized that all the time I get colorful shadows that I never wear. Give me a shimmery neutral and I am good to go! These colors are perfect for me! And yes, last month we got eyeshadow too but this month gave out full size refills. And before you go- ugh what's with the plastic casing- or what are you supposed to do with this- check out the next item. Price: $6.58

GlamRX Mini Freestyle Palette: How stellar is this??? I love the slim case (about the size of a credit card). I love the mirror- I love anything with a mirror, and no that's not vanity, it's to find the food plastered on my face and my smeared makeup. I love love love that this was made for these little magnetic refills to stick inside! That's right, those eyeshadows aren't just set inside they are magnetic so they are stuck and ready to go! Having the palette sooo makes me want to buy more refills... good job Ipsy- well-played. Price: ~$9

Juice Beauty's Hydrating Mist: Truth be told, toner is actually something that doesn't do much for your skin. I'm not just saying what I think- look it up- ask experts. That doesn't mean it doesn't feel awesome. Especially in dry climates, mists are great. Good tip- put this in your airplane travel bag and mist when your skin is hating you way up in the air after an awful day of traveling. Price: $3.26

This pic one more time, just for good measure.

Verdict: All told, I valued this bag at $20.84. Not the priciest bag in the world or that they've sent out but I have to say I was pleased. I love that they really stuck to a theme. To-go wipes, to-go eyeshadow, to-go mist/toner. Love it. Ipsy is always so fun for me. I won't be using one of the items (the wipes) but I think I am one of few who won't. I'm happy and that's all there is to it!
