BarkBox February Review

I guess I forgot to keep checking the tracking of this box since I was so surprised to hear the doorbell ring and see this box on my porch! I LOVE BarkBox and I am pretty sure this is the best box I have received so far- although... it is hard to choose since they are all amazing! I tried to get a pic/video of Henry sniffing the box when I brought it in but he just wasn't cooperating. He knows I'm trying to take pics and immediately runs right to the lens.

*BarkBox:
Type: Pet box
Cost: $29/month includes shipping- $18/month with 6-month subscription
What is it?: This just for dogs pet subscription box offers 3 box options: Small & Cute (0-20 lbs), Just Right (20-50 lbs), and Big & Bold (50+ lbs). Each month you receive 4 or more products and present for your dog. Products can include treats, toys, shampoos, and even leashes. A great thing about BarkBox is that they give a portion of each box's proceeds to help dogs-in-need. Use my referral code to help me continue getting this box AND get $5 off your first box.

First Look!

This box was super packed! I was wondering at first if I somehow accidentally received too much! I'm pretty sure it's just an amazing box- no mistakes there.

Info card- I know it's not super exciting but I loved that they talked about National Pet Dental Health Month (not that I knew it was or anything). Our pup Henry just had surgery on his teeth so we try to make his dental health a major priority. *His surgery was a teeth extraction surgery since two of his baby teeth didn't come out normally- nothing we could've done to get them out on our own- just his genes I guess.

On to the goodies!

My baby
1. Pet Qwerks Newspaper. OMG! Henry went ballistic for this thing! I picked it up to take a pic and he WANTED it! I barely had time for this pic above and I had to get it back from him for the pic of all the treats in the box together. This Dog Themed Newspaper has cute doggy stories but obviously the real draw is that it not only crinkles but it has squeakers in it too.Win Win. Puppy loves it so much- he's playing with it again right now! Price: $11.90

He didn't want us to take it away:

2. Wet Noses Treats in Carob & Mint + Dogranola. I've said it before and I'll say it again- with BarkBox I will never again have to buy treats. Not only do they provide an endless supply but they provide treats that are actually good for Henry! These treats are 100% organic, wheat free, with no chemicals, no preservatives, no corn, no soy, and no dairy. They are natural to say the least. They are little cookie-like treats so we broke them up into smaller bites for our puppy. The Carob & Mint one smells kind of like a Thin Mint and Henry loved it and the Dogranola has flax seed, PB, and dried cranberries. They have a bunch of other flavors on their site and you can buy trial size versions too. Henry loves any kinds of treats so of course he loves these- and I love feeding him healthy bites. Price: $3.98

3. Aussie Naturals Wagga Wool Knotty Bear (Small). Not gonna lie this bugger creeped me out a bit at first glance but I love what it is now that I know more AND Henry loves it- and whatever Henry loves, I love. This toy is 100% Natural made from sustainable materials, is eco-friendly, rescue tested (love that), repels odor and bacteria (yes please!) and has a coconut fiber filling. All their toys are made with jute, wool, cotton, coconut fiber, and natural gum rubber and Atlanta rescue dogs are the ones who get to play with all the new toys they make. You can also learn about the dog who tested your toy (Bailey for us) and help out the rescue dogs on their site. Henry grabbed it from me and immediately chewed and ran with it to his heart's content. Price: $7.99

4. N-Bone Super Antioxidant Sticks- Small- Chicken Flavor. Another huge win for me! These dental chews clean teeth AND freshen breath! We actually have started brushing our puppy's teeth, which is adorable btw since he loves to just grab on and chew his toothbrush, so this is a perfect product for us! This low-cal (sounds so funny to me) stick is made with a natural blend of fruits and veggies with added vitamins and minerals- you've got some carrots, chia seeds, and cranberries all in one, and no soy, gluten, wheat, or corn. Henry loves to chow down on bully sticks, raw hide, and greenies so I was hoping he would enjoy these. I gave him one and poof it was gone and devoured. Better make sure to ration these out!
Price: $4.97

5. Wag.com Coupon. May call this an extra but this box also included a $10 off coupon to wag.com. I actually discovered wag.com when I entered some giveaway once upon a time and so I actually might use this to order some pet food or something. Price: $10 coupon

Verdict: Uh hello I love this! I usually don't even care what the value of this box comes out to but without the coupon it is $28.84 (which btw the dental sticks price is the lowest I could find- it is about a dollar more at most places) and with the coupon $38.84. That means you are getting a variety of awesomeness for what you pay for at $29/box! I used a groupon for a 6 month membership so I actually only paid $10 for this box- I'd definitely say it is worth it. When my sub ends in 2 months I think I will subscribe again with another 6 month sub to make it $18/month. Again, I have NEVER been disappointed.

Try it for yourself: Use my referral code AND get $5 off your first box.

What's that you say readers? You want more badly taken pics of my puppy? How about a montage of him playing with his newspaper toy? Done and done.

And two more: the BF put him in my photobox the other day (pre-grooming) although we still couldn't get a good pic.

  1. Have you used/heard of ebates.com before? It's essentially an online rebate/cash back thing that a lot of online merchants participate in. I was browsing it yesterday and saw that Barkbox is one of the merchants. Then I thought of you and your puppy and thought maybe you'd like to take advantage of the $5 cash back offer that Barkbox has on Ebates.

  2. Your dog is so cute ! I've been reading your blog since yesterday and I love it even though I can't get most of these boxes since I'm in Canada. I still really enjoy it though, keep up the good work :) Also if you had an option to follow you through Google Friends Connection/Google Reader it'd be much easier !!

    1. Thanks! I think he's pretty darn cute too. I just heard about some Canadian boxes- have you heard of TopBox? Anyway I'll look into that feature but isn't Google Reader shutting down?
