28 Day Hug February Review
After making my T.O.M. post and realizing I was trying 3/4 boxes I realized I had to try all 4- HAD to...Really I just wanted to give them all a try so I promptly signed up for #4 and what do you know but it landed right in my mailbox yesterday.
Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $3.99 +s/h
What is it?: This T.O.M. is exactly what it says it is: A 28 Day Hug. Every 28 Days a girl just need a pick-me-up, a hug, if you will, and for a few bucks, 28 Day Hug will send one your way. This is NOT a tampon/pad/protection box but just a box with a treat. This care package from good & lovely includes some tea, chocolate, and some kind of aromatherapy treat like bath salts or a shower tablet. Each Hug comes in a discreet envelope that is shipped to you 4-5 days before your T.O.M. aka PMS central. If your cycle changes, a quick e-mail will change the shipping date for your Hug.
My "Hug" |
I signed up Friday of last week and received my Hug promptly on Monday in the mail. Woah- fast. When I signed up I never saw a place to put when I wanted it- what time of the month to send it- it was confusing...
The first thing to fall out of my envelope was the pure matters: green tea extract. Huh. Totally not what I expected but I am super intrigued by this supplement. These pills contain pure green tea extract which is a strong antioxidant to boost your immune system, promote healthy energy levels, and support a healthy metabolism. This is supposed to be a natural, healthy alternative to coffee. I am not a coffee drinker and HATE energy drinks so I am so curious to try these. Price: ~$1.50
Now here is my actual Hug. What I was told to expect in each Hug is chocolate, tea, and aromatherapy so the supplement is an extra. Let's see what is inside:
Ok: Tea, 3 things of chocolate, and a cream that literally say aromatherapaes on the top. So check, check, check on the description of this product.
3 packages of Mighty Leaf's Rainforest Mate Tea. I don't drink a lot of mate tea so I was actually excited for this product. I get tea in a lot of boxes (I even have a 3-month tea box subscription) so I love when I get something different. Price: $1.68
Smith & Vandiver's Stress Reducing Foot Cream from Aromatherapaes. These products combine the most beneficial essential oils with the safest, natural ingredients to create authentically aromatherapeutic bath, body and skin care products. I have never heard of stress reducing foot cream and I'm not sure how I feel about this. To be honest, I wanted to get a shower tablet since I haven't used one before but there is no way I could pick what I would get. I'm excited to try this and I love anything that says it is stress-reducing! Price: $1.99
Three chocolate bites from endangered species and Dagoba. Instead of one chocolate bar (like I expected) I received three types of dark chocolate: one dark chocolate, one with mint, and one with chilies and nibs. I usually don't like nibs but I do like a kick in my dark chocolate. I am not a huge dark chocolate fan but I still hope these are good. I haven't had any of these yet but I definitely will! Price: $1.20
Verdict: With shipping I ended up paying $5.98 for this package which totaled $6.37. It ended up paying for itself which is always a huge plus with subscription packages. The more I think about it too, I am excited to try the aromatherapy feature of this subscription and the supplement is super interesting. I think this would be the perfect option for someone who doesn't need the protection aspect of T.O.M. boxes while still getting spoiled a bit. It is small and inexpensive too. The unclear-ness of choosing a ship date is the biggest downfall of this subscription for me although I think a e-mail might clear things up.
Anyone else gonna give 28 Day Hug a try?
