Beauty Haul

By now my love of Sephora has become abundantly clear. And I can't help myself but to show you all the amazing things I pick up from there. I WISH they curated a box- I would be all over that!

I should preface to say that about 98% of the time I spend my Sephora shopping time online. You just can't miss out on their amazing online promos, plus 3 samples with every purchase- done and done. And I am somehow always able to spend enough to get free shipping. It's just so easy!

My purchases had a purpose this time- I swear. And it turned out to be an excellent haul(!) so I decided to share.

First up: my actual reason to to shop!

Ahh yes my ever so trusty eyeliner. Eyeliner is my best friend. I have giant blue eyes (it's true) but they are bit down-turned so eyeliner creates the illusion that I don't have big sad puppy eyes all the time. To say the least I like to pack on the eyeliner (I do a kind of cat-eye now) and this is my all time FAV!

When I first got into make-up, as in when I first had a complete turn-around makeover I was introduced to Stila's smudge stick in Purple Tang. Yep, I originally wore purple eyeliner on a daily basis. Don't call me crazy though- with dark brown hair/eyebrows and blue eyes the purple looks black while bringing attention to my blue eyes. Although when I would wear a purple dress you can tell. True story: a colleague of mine stopped me once (when I was wearing a purple sun dress) and said the purple made my eyeliner look purple... "uh it IS purple" I said. Her response? "Oh, you match your liner to your outfit?" "No, I wear this everyday".... "No, you don't." This went on quite a while and she never actually accepted my truth.

Anyway, I switched to black since the purple tang has some glitter in it and sometimes it would stick out- I still have it in purple tang though. I love it in stingray and I am so dependent on my liner that I need a back-up at all times! And what do you know I just switched to only having 1 on hand, thus the need for the purchase. $20

Goodness, that was long-winded- sorry.

Ok so I don't have a full set of brushes- sue me, they are expensive. I have 9 total (10 now) that suit my current needs plus a little kabuki brush and a tiny concealer one that is for a specific product... and I guess I have a second blush brush too that came with my benefit blush. Anyway, I have enough for now and when I need another one I tend to spend time more than once looking through which brush I want. For some reason, I recently decided I needed an eyeliner brush (I actually need two but I'll start with a slant one for now). I guess eyeliner was on the brain so this turned out to be the day I buckled down and pressed purchase! And perfect timing since I received a gel pot eyeliner in my ipsy bag! I wanted an angled brush since I like to draw on my face so I decided on Sephora's Classic Angled Eyeliner Brush which had great reviews. $14

So this is what I would call my "fun" product. Something I wanted to try but didn't need or hadn't tried before. I actually have been wanting another Smashbox lipstick like the other ones I LOVE. I couldn't decide between a limited edition red and the classic be legendary red so what did I do? I bought blush. I remembered a tutorial thing talking about great makeup for fair skin and they mentioned this blush: Bobbi Brown's Blush in Pale Pink. At first when I looked it up I was super skeptical. This color online looks like one I had AND other colors looked better for my skin but I had some faith and purchased it. The picture doesn't show it completely but in person it looks super fuchsia-ish. Eek- not pale pink. Well I tried it on thinking here goes nothing... OMG this stuff is the best!!!! Fair skin/porcelain skin people unite under this blush- it is beautimous!!! I 'm in love. $25

Now for the "free" stuff:

First up is my 100 point purchase. I guess I was intrigued by Bobbi Brown- the blush is my first endeavor into the brand. I am currently finishing off my previous eye treatment 100 pt product from philosophy from a previous Haul (on a future Review Roundup) but I am excited for this one! I am always looking to try eye creams since I like to feature my eyes with makeup and yet I have giant bags under my eyes! I use Erase Paste which is amazing (future Product Love) but I'd rather fix the problem not cover it up- so excited to use this! And at .24 oz this Hydrating Eye Cream is a sizable deluxe sample!

I SWEAR I miss all the best promo codes by a day! Ones I like have just finished all the time and this time around I received e-mails for some great ones I think 2 days or so after I made this purchase. Ah well- there are always a load of promos to choose from and this time I picked Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea. A girl (or anyone) will always need moisturizer and this is SPF which is great too. Haven't tried it yet but woot- free 1.7 oz of moisturizer AND I needed a new face moisturizer!

With every online purchase you get 3 free samples and for some reason I also got to smell a swatch of Marchesa parfum d'extase (nice btw). I chose fresh's Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream because 1. I love fresh 2. I need more face cream. Bam the Origins promo code sample took care of #2 but I love getting FREE facial lotions from Sephora since it helps me find good ones for me (I haven't yet settled on an all-time fav although I do like Sephora's brand's lotion).

Next: Soap & Glory's Face Soap & Clarity Facial Wash. I ended up getting a sample of Face Wash in Birchbox too which is great since I picked this sample because I really want to try new Face Washes.

Last: Nude's ProGenius™ Treatment Oil. I have been trying different oils and serums recently from Sephora and beauty sub boxes including a deluxe sample of this exact product I got from Sephora. Right now I am using a wonderful oil (on the next Review Roundup) but I am doing to do this one next and I didn't want a perfume sample so I figured hey might as well extend my use of this by a few days with another sample.

Amazing haul! Excited for more face creams and face washes plus I love my new blush AND I'm digging this gel pot eyeliner. Win, win, win!!

  1. E.L.F brand at Target has a good selection of brushes that are literally only $3. No joke. I've also read that their eye shadow primer is comparable to Urban Decay. I'll have to test that theory out once I'm done with my Too Faced eye primer (which is definitely not as good as Urban Decay).

    1. I've heard that their brushes are great a million times! Don't know why I haven't tried them! I use Too Faced's eye primer (both kinds) maybe I'll have to give Urban Decay's a try. I used to use Benefit's but I am a big fan of Too Faced.
