May GLOSSYBOX Review
My last May box post!! GLOSSYBOX had a big May as it was it's 1 year anniversary!! Exciting. There weren't many spoilers but everyone figured it must be good. I got my shipping notice about a week before I left and then everyone seemed to get their GLOSSYBOX but me! It took a long time to get there this month so I actually haven't seen the products in person since it came after I left- still can give my impressions though!

Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact in Amber Gold: Eww. I'm sorry but eww. I have super porcelain skin and there is no way I can wear this without looking like an orange streaky mess. It's supposed to be a "wonder" with spf and perfect coverage but when it's 100 shades darker than your skin, it doesn't really work. This CC Compact is one of the darker colors I've seen giving out. Wtf GLOSSYBOX?

etre belle- Collagen and aloe vera hydro mask: This mask promotes hydration and improves elasticity with a mega moisture boost. Awesome. I always love getting masks- they are just fun to try. Price: $3.95
European Wax Center- Exfoliate & Body Wash + Coupon: Pretty standard stuff. Some exfoliation and body wash samples. I had heard there was a coupon for a free wax at EWC and I was stoked since that is where I go! Yes! Free brow wax... for new clients ONLY. Btw, EWC always does this deal, as in, you don't need a card to get a free first wax at EWC. Boo. I'm not including the free wax in the value. BUT, you should still try EWC, it's great and fast and easy and you can buy their products with money you earn pre-booking, which I just found out, and is amazing! Plus, they have locations everywhere so if you travel a lot it's nice to know you can find a wax place (that's why I started going to EWC). Price: $5.43
My Prime- Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer: I was NOT excited about this when I saw it in a spoiler but now I am totally stoked! I am in the mood to try a new moisturizer and this looks perfect! Primer and moisturizer in one. Price: $11.33
Nicka K New York- Absolute! Perfume Stick Dream 42: This looks super cool but unfortunately I haven't gotten to smell it yet! CJ will bring it when he visits me at some point in time but from what he said it is citrusy a la a mandarin scent. I think I would have preferred to other scent I saw which was more floral but who knows? Price: $14.99
Sebastian Professional- Volupt Spray: Spray this on wet hair for sensual softness and full volume. Hmm. This doesn't look amazing and reviews I've seen haven't been too positive. I don't usually use volume sprays (I like powder for volume) but I would use it for the softness! Like always, I'll still give this a go!

Verdict: Definitely some awesomeness in this GLOSSYBOX although it couldn't top last month's box of goodies which I really loved. I hope I like the perfume stick smell since it is ultra cute and adorable. The EWC samples will be used for sure and I am psyched for the moisturizer and mask. The spray is meh to me and then the super dark CC compact blows for me. I am hoping I have a friend who can use it! This box is valued at $51.26 which is pretty excellent for $21 box!
My 3-month trial has ended but because GLOSSYBOX messed up with my glossydots (they just disappeared one day) I have another month free and then I am going to sign up for a longer sub since I've really liked it thus far! The perfume stick smells really good!! Did you end up liking it?
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, if you contact them about the cream, they might offer to make it up to you with either glossydots or a product of your choice to replace it. I emailed them after canceling my subscription because, like you, I got the Amber Gold color and I am so pale I'm practically translucent. I didn't ask for anything, I just wanted to let them know I was disappointed that it didn't fit my beauty profile at all. They wrote back the next day and, even knowing I had already canceled, offered to send me any product from this or previous boxes that I wanted (assuming it was in stock) - and it arrived about a week later. I still don't plan to resubscribe, at least not for now, since I think it's a bit pricey and I found a few other boxes I want to try for a bit, but I was happy that their customer service was helpful.
