May The Jungle Stand Review

Time for some Jungle Stand action! This month they had some issues with shipping so I got this pretty late, like the last day of May or something. I kind of said that I did this blog and something about boxes to my housemates but I think they thought I was crazy. Having my first box here be this month's game show themed box did not help my case, BUT they all happily joined in the tasting! Anyway, on with the goods.

Don't forget to enter my Treatsie Giveaway!

The Jungle Stand:
Type: Food Box
Cost: $9.92/month includes shipping
What is it?: From their website: "We are an original taste-ing BAR. And every month the BAR will offer bitesized samples for taste-ing. It’ll be a very unique experience for sure certainly one you’ve never had before. Perhaps odd  maybe even strange at times, butal ways delightful. So take a taste and enjoy!" Each bar comes with 6 tasting samples.

First off, I need to find a better places for pics in my 6-week home...
Anyway, I liked that they used an eco-envelope this month!

This month is "The Game Show Bar." 6 types of brownie brittle (crispy brownie pieces) that are different tastes. Interesting.

First look.

Spoiler Card! The answers were on this baby card just in case.

Yellow: Alright, I have 4 housemates right now and they were all gracious enough to participate in my box adventure right off the bat. I should say that I have a huge sweet tooth, but am on a diet and couldn't really dig into these so I was really happy for the help. Out of the 5 of us, one doesn't like chocolate so everything will be said in reference to FOUR of us. They grabbed this one first and easy peasy it was Chocolate Chip. I mean you can SEE the chips. This was 2 peeps top 2 flavors.

Pink: The number 2 taste was cinnamon cappuccino- really easy once again. I didn't taste much cinnamon and neither did anyone else... In any case it was still a top 2 for one person.

Green: Our third taste was super easy once again. Toffee is just a super definable taste! I love toffee so this was my fav of the box and a top two from another housemate as well. We had some toffee haters (boo) and while they didn't actually hate this, it wasn't a top taste for them.

Blue: Down to three tastes left, so we had a good idea what this would be (especially since there are no chocolate chips in it) and in our 50/50 pre-guess, we chomped down and ugh chipotle. Chipotle is a good spice but this was terrible. ALL of us hated it. Eww. We quickly turned to the next one to wash the taste out of our mouth.

*Btw saltines are included as cleansers but we didn't eat them- didn't need to + didn't want to split 2 crackers 5 ways.

Orange: With only orange and chocolate chip mint left, we knew this was chocolate chip mint. 1. It's labeled with an orange dot and they wouldn't put orange and orange dot together. 2. You can see the chocolate chips in the picture and on the brownie. This was my 2nd fav and a top 2 for 2 others.

Red: Obviously this was orange, but even without knowing it beforehand, the taste was strong. It was like those chocolate oranges that are out everywhere at Christmas time. This was a fav of 1 person.

Verdict: Overall, a pretty good bar. SOOO much better (for me) than last month's peppers and olives one although still not as amazing as my first box of dessert amazingness. This ended up working well that I had multiple people to try this with and I liked how everyone preferred different things. That being said, for going the "game show" route, the tastes weren't difficult at all to decipher. Maybe they shouldn't have made it multiple choice, or done weirder, crazier things? I don't know. It's a great price so I'll stick with 'em for awhile and I can't wait to see what's next!
