Limited Edition Birchbox for CEW Box Reviews

When Birchbox released their Limited Edition Boxes for CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women), I wasn't too impressed. The products looked ok but nothing screamed at me AND they included Julep items and well, I already get Julep! Well, with their deal I caved and used my points to buy both boxes and... they rock! Why did I even doubt it!??! Birchbox is a great sub box but they really shine in their Limited Edition boxes, which I should have known since I loved the Home one I got before! This is a dual post with BOTH Insiders' Beauty Award boxes... and I'm sorry to say they are sold out! I tried to warn people in a post earlier this week so hopefully people picked them up- anyway, let's see the goods!

Birchbox:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping
What is it?: Every month you receive a box of 4-6 beauty and lifestyle products. Each month there are about 30+ different boxes that you might be sent which makes each month a surprise. Birchbox is a great forum to learn about and discover new products and brands. Birchbox has a points system given when a subscription plan is purchased, reviewing products, and buying full-size products in their shop. Every 100 points can be used as $10 off. Use my referral code to get started but know that Birchbox has a waiting period of usually 4-5 weeks.

Let's start with the box I was most excited about, the Prestige Headliners Box!

Pretty.

It's the Prestige Headliners Box on the Birchbox site but it's not listed as such anywhere else...

First Look

Elizabeth Arden- PREVAGE Anti-Aging Triple Defense Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 50: Fancy little tube from Elizabeth Arden with the longest name! This SPF corrects past sun damage and fine lines. Sounds like a nifty sunscreen. I love having little sunscreen tubes for my purse if I don't expect to be in the sun all day, so this was pretty fun. Price: $8

Living Proof- Prime Style Extender: This little beauty and it's magic ingredient, OFPMA, will keep your hairstyle twice as long- sounds pretty sweet. I wish I would've gotten this earlier in the summer since my styling fades fastest in this gross Texan heat! Price: $4

La Fresh- Oil-Free Face Cleanser: Again, wipes I won't use. I understand people love these but they just aren't my thing. Price: $0.67

Julep- Jackie Nail Polish: Thus far, this is the only variation within this CEW Insiders' Beauty Award boxes. Everything is the same since it's winners/finalists of this award but there is a variation in what color you could receive. There is one difference in the other box too for a total of 2 variations. I'm all about this deep red and I'm psyched I got a color I didn't already own! Price: $14

Julep- Essential Cuticle Oil: Woot! This little goodie is something I actually don't own! I know it's crazy! I think this got sent out the one month I skipped this year and people loved it- suffice to say that I was jealous. Boom- got it now! Price: $18

IT Cosmetics- Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil: I did NOT expect this little dual wonder- it's a brown brush and pencil- huh. I use Anastasia gel brush and it's amazing (in Brunette btw) so I don't usually use a pencil- I'll try this although I'm more interested to see it the brush is good. Price: $15

Verdict: Just under $60 in goods for this box and that's estimating the last product's price so it could have been more. The box itself cost $18 but when grouped with the other box you saved a few bucks so it was even less than that! I would call that a deal! Again, I used my points for this purchase so I just got $60 in stuff free- I shouldn't say stuff but best in the business products! Turns out the Julep items are my favorite in this box. I was more excited about this Limited Edition box but turns out the other one was amazing... let's go to that one, shall we?

Same outer box

This is technically the Mass Appeal box!

This wasn't the box I was interested in initially but was sooo wrong!

First look

Revlon- Just Bitten Balm Stain in Crush: I actually JUST read a list of best beauty products that people vouch for on Pinterest (the list was via BuzzFeed?) and this was on it. I love Lip Stains like this but Tarte has my heart when it comes to this type of product. Weirdest part? I received this exact product in a PopSugar Must Have box! This one is opened but untouched- I'll gift it. Price: $9

L'Oreal Paris- Infallible Eyeshadow in Midnight Blue: I completely admit, I have become, sigh, a makeup snob, *gasp*! I haven't owned drugstore makeup in years and it didn't start because of snobbery but because there are better products out there and then after discovering Sephora and their deals and such, you can't go back. That being said, it mainly means I haven't tried these brands' products in years! So I'm game! Different people got different shades of this product and while I only would wear this on a night out, it's better than the green I saw someone get (so not for me). It's a really even eyeshadow formula and the swatch on my hand looked like shimmery awesomeness. We shall see! Price: $8

Burt's Bees- Ultimate Care Hand Cream: I get hand creams all the time in boxes but I loved receiving this one! I LOVE Burt's Bees stuff and am shocked I barely own any of it! A lot of hand lotions/creams I get are super heavy but this one is perfectly light without being greasy! Love! And the scent is so light- it's stupendous! Price: $7.20

Simple- Revitalizing Eye Roll-On: I think I initially just glanced at this box's products since I was pleasantly surprised to see this in the box. I get eye creams a lot but when I say I want something to end the bags under my eyes THIS is what I want. There is something about a roll-on that makes you feel like something is actually being done! Favorite product. I'm so stoked to try it. Price: $11

Olay- Pro-X Spot Fading Treatment: I've tried a bunch of spot faders and haven't seen big results but I refuse to give up! I have some spots on my chin that I wish would disappear and if this aids that I will be sooo thankful! Big points to this since I've actually heard it works- from REAL people! Price: $13

Nivea- A Kiss of Olive Oil & Lemon Moisture Rich Lip Care: This super hydrating lip balms combines vitamin E, lemon, and olive oil to create this moisture rich formula. I have a million lip balms but I love that and this one is crazy intriguing. The smell is very... different... not bad but curious. It's the lemon and olive oil mix- it's craziness. It's a win with me but like I said... curious. Price: $4

Verdict: I loved this box! I really didn't expect to, but it had such great products for me in it! Truth be told, the reason I didn't really care for this box initially was because it seemed to be more beauty care products than actual makeup and the like which is what I usually prefer. Craziness that this wasn't the case this time! The two makeup products are my least-favorite of the bunch- not that they are bad, but one is a repeat item and the other is a very strong color. Anyway, this $12 box (not including the discount when combined with the other box) ended up being worth $52.20! Tons of full-size products too! Winning for sure!

Sooo happy with both boxes- if you EVER see Limited Edition Birchbox anything, snatch it up! I admit, that's what I save my points for! Did anyone else scoop these up? What colors did you get in the variations?
