Beauty Haul
Since most of my January boxes have come and gone- today's beauty is brought to you by my Jan. 21st Sephora shipment. I love me some Sephora. This is my second box this month from Sephora- a bit ridiculous. I LOVE ordering online from Sephora- in fact I prefer it. You get mega deals and extra products you can't get in stores due to promo codes and samples. My latest shipment included 9 products and 6 of the 9 were free. Awesome.
DERMAdoctor KP duty, Clinique makeup remover, Benefit blush in dandelion |
Buying one thing always seems like an excuse to buy more so:
DERMAdoctor KP duty: $36 for 4 oz. Yes, this is pricey but I've always wanted to give this a try. This lotion is supposed to combat keratosis pilaris or "chicken skin," the red bumpiness people get on arms, hands, and other parts of skin. This is mostly due to dryness and this product is a mega-hydrater. I have NEVER tried this and like most fair-skinned women I get KP on my arms so have always wanted to give this product a go. the 14 oz. size is $90 on Sephora (down from $126) but the 4 oz. is quite large and will hopefully work long enough for me to see if I want to buy the larger size. This past weekend I was in Louisiana and when I came back my arms weren't too bumpy but I'll keep at it with the product and give a review is a few weeks.
Benefit Cosmetics blush in Dandelion: $28. I have wanted to try a benefit blush for awhile now but couldn't choose a color (Bella Bamba is the most popular, Dallas is another big one). I settled for this soft pink because it looked lovely and perfect for this upcoming spring. A nice rosy hue with a sundress = perfection. The packaging in ADORABLE. I love the box with mirror and brush included. Most of my blushes are bare minerals and I can see the majority turning to benefit's favor.
Philosophy Miracle Retinoid Eye Repair Cream, Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask, Bumble and Bumble Straight Blow Dry |
These are my free products. The Eye Cream I got with a promo code and I used my points 100 each for the Mask and Bb Straight since I don't love the 500 point products and I have points to use!
Philosophy Miracle Retinoid Eye Repair Cream: This deluxe sample is an AMAZING value considering the full size is only 0.5 oz and costs a whopping $65. This is why I love Sephora- I get to try things I would never buy on my own. This sample will probably last me a month at least! Yes, this is a anti-aging eye cream and I am in my early 20's BUT it does a ton of things including diminishing bags under your eyes which I would love! I also swear I am getting wrinkles around my mouth too- so why not- anti-age away! I expected a white lotion/cream or clear serum but found instead a thick yellow-ish gel/goo. It is super hydrating too.
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask: This 100 point product is a whole 1 oz compared to the full-size 3.4 oz for $23. I had this product when I was a teenager and am excited to use it for real this time. Before it was just being girly and rubbing mud on my face. I'm hoping I can see some diminished pores and less blackheads.
Bumble and Bumble Straight Blow Dry: This 100 point sample is 0.5 oz compared to the 2 oz size at $14 or 5 oz for $29. Half an ounce is plenty to try for a hair sample. This heat-activated styling balm helps create straight hair while blow-drying. I straightener my hair so if this works wonders and gives my hair a break every so often from my straightener than I would be sold. I LOVE Bb and use several of their shampoos/conditioners and all my hair spray products (prep, styling lotion, shine on, etc.) are all Bb. I have 2 other Bb samples I haven't used much so that will be my goal this month to use them all.
L.I.L.Y. Stella McCartney perfume, Anthony Logistics for Men Shave Cream, Givenchy Play Sport Eau de Toilette |
Free samples:
I have a giant hoard of perfume samples from Sephora and have started going through them in the past few months. L.I.L.Y. is actually quite nice and I will use this.
My last Sephora shipment accidentally sent me this Shave Cream as well so my bf has 2 to use. He is out of town and so I don't know his opinion on it or the cologne either.
All in all I am excited to try these products. Of the 7 products for me to try, 6 are new to me so it will be fun playing with them. Some reviews of the products in a few weeks to see any differences!
