T.O.M. Boxes

Ladies only post:

T.O.M. boxes? Time Of the Month. Here's my post for boxes devoted to boxes for that Time Of the Month. As subscription box interest has grown, box ideas and companies keep popping up. So, it only seemed natural that there should be a monthly subscription box devoted to the other thing that comes monthly.

There are four companies I know of that provide T.O.M. boxes, 3 of which I am trying and reviewing in the coming weeks (there is one I know of in the UK if anyone is interested). Here's the lowdown on Juniper, Le Parcel, My Cotton Bunny, and 28 Day Hug:

Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $28/month
What is it?: This company which started up in 2013 delivers a deluxe box complete with your choice of tampons (20+), pads, pantyliners plus treats! Juniper begins each subscription registration by choosing from the 6 brands of tampons they offer (which you get a variety of absorbency), then you choose whether you would like backup protection (pads/pantyliners), and if you would like some Midol thrown in! You choose the date you would like to receive the box and then the tampons box has a phonenumber on it to text so they can track your monthly guest so your box will always be on time and continue customizing your box. Each box comes with a bevy of treats including honey sticks, chocolate, tea, snacks, etc! You get a starter box to begin and after that you work with Juniper to customize based on your needs.

My pre-review thoughts: Checking out other reviews and their website, I loved this box's contents. This box really seems to spoil you at a time which would be great to feel spoiled! I love that you get an array of protection and can choose your brand. I also love the idea of sending some Midol with the box- let's face it, chocolate doesn't fix everything. What may be my favorite part of the box are actually the honey sticks: as a singer it is awful that once a month my vocal chords dry out and to have honey sticks on hand would be great for me! I also am really excited by the company itself, they seem to be really involved in making their customers happy. Case in point: I had a billing question/problem after ordering my box and they replied to me AND fixed the problem in a matter of hours on a Saturday! Talk about customer service.

My pre-review worries: 1) The price- $28 so $1/day is a lot for me BUT if I love the box when I get it I can see myself keeping it up as every girl deserves to treat herself during her T.O.M. 2) There is no login. I'm hoping the customization part of their company replaces the need for a login although in this age of online everything, it feels weird not being able to login and change things around even though that is available through e-mail/phone number.

How much do they love their product? They are giving all my readers a FREE BOX!!! You read that right,  A FREE BOX! When you register and it asks you how you heard about Juniper write in my blog: Broke Beauty Blogger and you get a free box to try! Again: FREE BOX!

Type: T.O.M. box
Cost: $15 + shipping
What is it?: This ladies only box is a new start-up with the tagline, "Nature's gift stinks, so we give you a better one." Every month Le Parcel sends out 30 protection products of your choice. You choose your favorite brand (from 4) and decide what and how many (if any) tampons, liners, and pads you want. Every box comes with a chocolate treat and a special gift product. The box is perfect for those who love organization as the box is actually a pull out tray with four separate sections for your protection, treat, and gift. You choose the date and will receive the box on that date. Check out their website to watch the adorable info video they have on their homepage. They have awesome infographs and mottos all over their site too (check out the logo above Le Parcel: Every Month Without Fail). Le Parcel has a great spin on turning your T.O.M. around.

My pre-review thoughts: I am reviewing as many boxes as I can get my hands on to see what I love and to show my readers what boxes they might love (aka what suits your needs) since I started this blog. However, I decided on trying Le Parcel pre-blog. Why? For one, I love the customization you get from the start. You get 30 protection products but not some random array, you get to choose. No matter how many boxes of tampons there are in the store there isn't one that suits you exactly-how could they? This company lets you pick exactly what arrangement you want (totaling 30 of course). I also love the gift they have been selling: a really sweet watch. It's not so much that it is a watch but that it is something that isn't T.O.M. related and instead something that is actually a cool treat. Also, Le Parcel does have a login feature.

My pre-review worries: 1) The treat. The chocolate treat is a really small piece of chocolate. I could get their treats anywhere for a quarter. This, in the end, may be ok since I should be sticking to a diet and just giving myself a little treat but we will see how I feel when I get the box. 2) Will the gift be worth it? The video/pics make the gift look nice but will it be? I've loved the gifts I've seen on reviews so I'm hoping this worry is unwarranted.

How did I sign up for my first box? I used this coupon code: familyDBD, and received 30% off the first month (I ended up paying $15.50). Try out the code if you want to give this box a try too!

Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $13.75/month shipping included
What is it?: This box (which is super cute showing off their adorable logo) contains an entire box of tampons inside as well as a yummy treat and a gift. You can choose from over 6 brands of tampons and you can also choose which size absorbency. You also have the choice of a box of pads (pantyliners can be provided as well). Their FB page also says they are launching a tween box soon for girls just getting their period- what a great idea!- I wish I had had that sent to me when I was a tween! This box has rapidly grown in value since its start only a few months ago and offers a wide array of products as each month has a theme or idea although comfort is the main idea behind every gift. Each month, you can login and change which tampon/pad/absorbency you want so that you are still getting an array of types. This semi-brand new company is constantly growing and changing so expect new website changes, a referral program, and more customization coming soon.

My pre-review thoughts: The number one thing I love about this box is that you get an entire box of tampons/pads as if you picked it up at the store yourself. Why does that matter if you are getting the same amount from other subscribers?!? Because the tampons/pads are NOT repackaged. Meaning you know 100% that no seal has been broken and no product touched- that makes for a great frame of mind. While researching the company, I was told they were the only ones to really put their label out for the world to see. This doesn't mean they are screaming your T.O.M. to the world, just that you shouldn't be embarrassed about your period and take pride in being a woman. The price is also the lowest of the three tampon subscription boxes especially with s/h included in the price. As someone who is already spending every extra penny she has on subscriptions, saving a dollar here and there is essential!

My pre-review worries: 1) My main worry when this box first came out was the value. They initially had a cami, a treat, and a box of tampons- it looked a bit like something I put together at the drugstore. Yes, it is cheaper than other options, but was it going to feel cheaper? As the company has grown I've seen a significant growth in the boxes. Literally. The amount of stuff in the boxes has seemed to grow each month with the "treat" being several teas, chocolates and candy and the gift being multiple objects- I'm hoping this holds true when I get my box. 2) The gift. The first month was a cami monogrammed with their adorable logo which was way cute, BUT there was no option when registering for shirt size so at least one person got a gift they would never be able to wear. Months since have improved and I'm hoping mine is just as good as they have been of late!

Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $3.99 +s/h
What is it?: This T.O.M. is exactly what it says it is: A 28 Day Hug. Every 28 Days a girl just need a pick-me-up, a hug, if you will, and for a few bucks, 28 Day Hug will send one your way. This is NOT a tampon/pad/protection box but just a box with a treat. This care package from good & lovely includes some tea, chocolate, and some kind of aromatherapy treat like bath salts or a shower tablet. Each Hug comes in a discreet envelope that is shipped to you 4-5 days before your T.O.M. aka PMS central. If your cycle changes, a quick e-mail will change the shipping date for your Hug.

I haven't signed up for this yet (I will, I promise) so I don't want to say things as pre-review but I have to say for those wanting a monthly treat without the price, this could be perfect for you. I especially love the aromatherapy part of the box and am intrigued by a shower tablet now as I've never tried one before. This price might be a bit much for three things but keep in mind the little bit of chocolate isn't too little and it should be from a quality source. Again, I don't love the no login feature but they do up-front give you a way to easily and quickly reach out to them.

Bonus T.OM. Box:
While looking up 28 Day Hug I discovered a 5th T.O.M. box:

Type: T.O.M. Box
Cost: $44.99/month shipping included
What is it?: This Kit from 28 Day Hug's producers good & lovely is made for those women with "I wanna curl up and die" kinds of periods. This box includes supplements by Dr. Tori Hudson which are designed to make those who greatly suffer during PMS' lives easier! Each kit contains a supplement regimen as well as products to care for your body and of course products to pamper yourself.

For those people with big questions!

What about if I just use pads?

The boxes that offer protection do seem geared towards women who use tampons however Juniper and Le Parcel both offer backup protection in the form of pads/pantyliners and My Cotton Bunny send out boxes of pads if that is your preference.

Why would I pay money for what I already pick up in the store?

The answer to this is a three-parter: 1) The idea is to make the worst part of the month better and easier- yes, you could put together a box like these by yourself but would you? No. And this way you are getting a treat! 2) How many times did you get mother nature's gift, reach into the cabinet and find it empty or near empty? Now think about how nice it would be to never have to think about stocking up again- it is delivered to you (discreetly) right to your doorstep! Especially when you are not feeling great physically and emotionally, you don't have to venture to the store begrudgingly in that outfit that just didn't fit today with this stupid bloating... 3) This might not relate to everyone, but think about never having to buy tampons again! Especially not having to buy them from that awkward 15 year old boy cashier.

What if I try it and hate it?

Then cancel! Most of the companies are so sure you will be pleased that they have great refund policies too so you won't even be out any money.

Ok-that's it. My super long post is over! I am stoked to try these boxes as they all look great and my reviews will be up soon!

I Wish Wednesday!

I wish... I could get Turntable Kitchen's Pairings Box but... I'm poor!

Yep, the old excuse: no moneys! I have to say though I am hoping that room becomes open for a subscriber and after my next TheFancy and PopSugar boxes and reviews, unless I am thrilled (which probably will happen with TheFancy), I am canceling them to try out different lifestyle boxes so I can review them for you all (and try out amazing subscriptions)!

So, what to know why I want to try the Pairings Box so bad? Check out their info video from their homepage:

The Turntable Kitchen Pairings Box Experience from High Beam Media on Vimeo.

Ok, how sweet does that look? I want to throw a dinner party complete with a limited-edition vinyl! Some artists they have featured are: MØ, Seamonster, Turtle Giant, Mikal Cronin, and Ghost Loft. I'll be honest, I don't know any of these artists which appeals to me even more! Why would I want music I already know when I could get music sent to me that helps me discover new favs!

Another reason it looks so great is I am BLESSED to have a boyfriend who is an amazing cook. This means this box is right down his alley too meaning this is perfect for us! Sadly, like I said before, this box is currently sold out but I'll keep my eye out when it's open again for everyone AND when I have some money in my pocket!

What do you all think?

Product Love

Welcome to Product Love- this feature will focus on a product that I personally own and love so...

An ode to smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks:

I admit I used to be afraid of lipsticks. Seemed so adult to me- I preferred glosses and stains. And then I got my first good lipstick and my beauty life suddenly opened up. It's hard to know what lipstick will look good on you until you try it so I suggest going into stores and TRYING out the colors!

I REALLY wanted a smashbox product, like REALLY REALLY wanted something when I realized I owned a total of 0 smashbox products and I had heard good things about their lipsticks. After scouring Sephora's selection 20 lipstick shades (smashbox has 21 shades plus a limited edition one right now) and repeatedly adding and removing different colors from my shopping basket, I decided on something a little extreme/out of my comfort zone and bought Electric Pink Matte.

Electric Pink Matte
This blast of hot pink definitely gets me noticed and I have to say I get compliments every single time I wear it. Yes, every time! I think my favorite was when the cashier at Jamba Juice had to tell me how much she loved my lipstick. Some people wear shocking colors every day but I think if you do that it wears down the effect. I loved the lipstick so much I decided to buy another color.

At $19 a pop I had to choose carefully and decided between a nice coral (Mandarin-electric coral) and their  bestseller red (Legendary). The choice was easy considering Legendary was sold out. So, what was the public's reaction to Mandarin. Immediate compliments- I swear I am not exaggerating.

Mandarin
I love this product! The lipsticks' colors stay all day and are easy to apply and re-apply. The colors really pop and, like I said, people really take notice. If you are looking for a new lip, I recommend smashbox 100%!

My pics don't do these beauties justice: thank goodness for the above Sephora's pics!

Birchbox 10

With three unboxings in a row, I am definitely in a subscription box frame of mind. I planned on doing a beauty product post today but I want to do a subscription box themed post. Since I have to wait to unbox my beauty boxes on my blog until February I thought I'd do a beauty box themed post.

My Birchbox vs. Ipsy matchup definitely ended up in Ipsy's favorite BUT that doesn't mean Birchbox is all bad. To show you all what I mean I am posting my favorite 10 products from my 4 months of Birchbox subscription.

Birchbox:
Type: Beauty Box
Cost: $10/month includes shipping

For some reason (probably based on my answers to my Birchbox profile actually...) 4 of the best products I have received from Birchbox have been haircare related. I swear my hair isn't a mess but these products have unexpectedly wooed me.

#1- Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo:
The only January box product that won my BB vs. Ipsy matchup has turned into a fav for me. I also love my Bumble and Bumble Sunday shampoo but I could see the myself spending $32 on the full-size Number 4 shampoo when I run out of the sample size (and Bb Sunday shampoo). This shampoo sample is big- smells great- and actually works! That is a win!

#2- amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask:
I was bummed back in December when I got this-I mean a conditioner foil packet?!? Then surprise, surprise this stuff is amazing! This is a great product that I use bi-weekly or so, it makes my hair feel amazing! I'm not sure I would shell our $40 for the full-size but after almost two months I STILL have product left in my sample so I have time to decide.

#3- twistband:
I know some people wouldn't be or aren't excited to see a hair-tie in their Birchbox but I was stoked. I really wanted to try one out since so many people love them. I have to say I am a fan. My 100s of black hairties are in retirement due to this one product. I use it all the time and it doesn't pull on my hair or create creases when I take it out. I don't love the color but meh noone notices. FYI for those interested it does stretch out but that doesn't affect it as in being too loose.

#4- Lulu Organics® Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder:
My all time favorite sample from Birchbox came in my first box back in September. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of getting some Hair powder but after using it once I realized its full worth. The tiny packet I received it in lasted months! Yes, I said months- a little goes a long way with this product! I've tried some dry shampoos before and have found spray ones cost a bunch and are only good for a couple uses, and other powders smell too much, don't work, or make your hair chalky. This one, however, is amazing! It de-greases your hair when their isn't time for a shower AND it makes your hair completely ready for styling AND it smells like Lavender aka amazing! How amazing was this product for me? I bought the full-size for $30 at the Birchbox shop and it was worth every cent!

I have also received some amazing products for my eyes. Check it:

#5- theBalm® cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer:
I love this sample- it comes in adorable packaging and I think sample is a hard word for this since it will last me a really long time. This makeup is a highlighter, eyeshadow, and an all-over shimmer but I mainly use it as an eyeshadow. I use this all the time and love it. The nude color is great- it adds a little shimmer on my eye without being over the top. I love it.

#6- Lashem Measurable Difference Lash Gel Serum-
This is kind of a strange favorite. Honestly, I haven't fully tried it AND I don't know how well it works so why a fav? I've always wanted to try a eyelash grower and would never be able to because they cost so much money. Thanks to Birchbox I was able to try something I never would have on my own.

#7- ModelCo FIBRE LASHXTEND Lengthening Mascara:
FULL SIZE SAMPLE!!! There is so much to say about how great this sample is! I keep it in my purse 24/7 as an always there mascara with a mirror attached! How genius to have a mirror ON your mascara? I also love this because I have never tried a fibre mascara and I loved it. This adds little fibers to your lashes which extends them and makes them look super long and awesome. Love, love, love this product that technically cost me $2 in my October box. Will I buy the full size... uh duh I GOT a full-size in my box!

Here's some other random items I've loved over the past 4 months!

#8- Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè (24-Hour Miracle Cream):
Didn't love my first box (back in September) but I ended up falling for this cream. Reviews 'round the internet are screaming their praises over this French cream! And I see why! I received 2 foil packets which ended up swaying me to buy the full-size for $16. This cream is now my daily facial lotion! Not only is this product light and super moisturizing but it is a make-up artist's fav as a primer (aka face lotion) AND makeup remover. That's right, this bugger removes makeup! I ran out of makeup remover for a few days and I used this as a remover myself and it totally works. Craziness!

#9- Aerie Shimmer:
I have a million perfume samples and hate getting them in my Birchbox! So when I saw this November I didn't think much about it- but I love it. It smells fantastic and when I finally sift through my samples (Perfume-a-rama posts to come) I can see myself getting a full bottle of this. Light and airy and wonderful!

#10- Chuao Chocolatier ChocoPod:
So random as this is a food in my box but I can't help what I love. I got the Salted Chocolate Crunch in my box (toasted breadcrumbs with sea salt in dark chocolate) and it was yum, yum, yum! Then in my Love with Food box I received  Firecracker (chipotle caramel fudge dotted with popping candy and salt in dark chocolate) and I realized how much I need this in my life! Birchbox shop sells the assorted 7-set in their shop for $7.95 which is cheaper than anywhere else even straight from Chuao. They are sold out right now but I am waiting on the wait list to get my hands on these 50-60 cals yumminess! I plan on having one a week to satisfy my sweet tooth!
So there you have it my 10 favs from 4 months! There are more favs too (had a great lotion, nail polish, etc.) and hope I have 5 more to add when I get my next box in a few weeks! Check out my 10 favs at Birchbox now!

BarkBox January Review

Yeah! Another unboxing- this time I get to spoil my little baby Henry! A bit of background: Henry is my 7 month old Yorkie Poo. He is a little over 8 lbs- he is a big chewer and also loves stuffed animals particularly if they have a squeak and as big as he is.

BarkBox:
Type: Pet box
Cost: $29/month includes shipping $18/month for 6 month subscription
What is it?: This just for dogs pet subscription box offers 3 box options: Small & Cute (0-20 lbs), Just Right (20-50 lbs), and Big & Bold (50+ lbs). Each month you receive 4 or more products and present for your dog. Products can include treats, toys, shampoos, and even leashes. A great thing about BarkBox is that they give a portion of each box's proceeds to help dogs-in-need. Use my referral code to help me continue getting this box AND get $5 off your first box.

BarkBox is one of my favorite boxes- it may be THE favorite- even though it isn't even for me!

Small & Cute Box (for 0-20 lb dogs)

Henry was just as excited as his mommy to see this box sitting out on our front door.

Now on to the box contents! How cute does this look?!?!

Their adorable info card is written by Scout the office dog. I know it is a bit cheezy but I like the cuteness they put into every aspect of the box.

Elton the Octopus:
Jax and Bones- $14.00
Oh my goodness, this rope toy is beyond adorable. Looking up the price on their website I couldn't help but fall in love with all their rope toys- no wonder they were voted Best Pet Toy by Pet Product News! This company seems super great, they even donate a portion of each sale made to The Rescue Train, which is dedicated to saving animal lives. Love that BarkBox has introduced me to this great new company. So what does Henry think? He loves it!! He has been playing with it non-stop. Henry even brought it into bed last night. We played fetch a bunch and he can chew it forever! The genius of a rope toy like this is how durable it is- if you have a dog who loves to chew definitely look up this company and their toys because this is a lasting toy.

I also love splaying little Elton's legs flat to the ground so Henry can grab on.
Curly Bully stick:
Barkworthies-$5.99?
I was stoked to see this as Henry is a big chewer and CJ has bought him 2-3 curly bully sticks before (when I've been traveling) and he devours them. These bully sticks are 100% beef and they don't use bleaches or chemicals- yeah for safe pups! So Henry's thoughts?!? He seemed to like it because... he devoured it- literally. This thing was GONE by the end of the day. Our place is littered with his chews but nothing compared to this. And it is super adorable to watch him maneuver around the twists by the way.

Adorable
Wee-Nut:
Ruff Dawg- $6.18
This thing is so cute and comes in quite a few colors. The Wee-Nut helps keep teeth and gums healthy too which is a super plus! This is made to stuff treats and even though this is the WEE-nut I think this may a bit big for Henry. Henry isn't too into treat balls unless they have peanut butter or Dog Cheez-Whiz inside aka not solid treats but he might like this. P.S. this kind of has a strong smell to it-it isn't bad- it is kind of a sweet smell. It is a great addition though to give a mix of products.

Mini Yumzies Natural Peanut Butter Flavor Treats:
Nootie-$7.99
All natural. Grain free. #1 ingredient is chicken. Made in the USA. Peanut Butter flavor. Mini size perfect for training. Are you kidding me?!? These are perfect for Henry! Added bonus: These fit the Wee-Nut perfectly! Treats are usually the best part of BarkBox- they spoil my pup with healthy naturalness and he loves them. I haven't bought new treats since I started getting this box because they provide me with a steady supply- this was perfect timing since he just finished his previous fav treat which was from the November box. So Henry's thoughts? He went berserk when I brought these out! He goes crazy for PB so it wasn't a surprise he gobbled these up. He even stole the bag while I was unboxing and ran around with them for awhile. Adorable.

Verdict: This box had $30+ worth of products and I used a groupon for a 6 month trial which means I spent $10 on this box AKA this was well worth it! Honestly, even if I had spent the $29 on this box it would have been worth it. Henry loves getting new toys and treats and we love seeing him happy. We have never been unhappy with a box (the same night we unboxed we gave Henry a bath with a shampoo from the Dec box-we love this stuff). We find amazing toys AND get to see what our pup loves and doesn't care so much for. Plus-c'mon, a never ending supply of treats! This was my 3rd box which means I have 3 months left- I honestly can't see myself canceling my subscription when the 6 months end though- I am gonna try to find some money to put away for this is the future! If you want to spoil your best friend too I suggest the 6 month subscription ($18/month) because you won't be disappointed and don't forget to use my referral link for $5 off! Also look like if you manually enter in HEARTSBBX1 and you will get $10 and $10 will be donated to Hearts Speak for each box!

Henry going nuts when coming in from his walk and seeing his brand new bully stick:

Loot Crate January Review

Two days- two unboxings!

LootCrate:
Type: Gamer Box
Cost: $13.37/month + $6 shipping
What is it?: Each month you receive 6-8 hand-picked products as well as having the option to win a $250 mega crate. This box is curated around a "geeky theme" helping you stay up all night playing video/computer games and show your gaming love to the world. This is my bf's box but we will be joint-reviewing it on the site. Use our referral link and put in coupon code 10K for $4 off.

This is our (CJ's) first Loot Crate and so we had no idea what to expect.

Like most subscription boxes there is a nice info card inside with info on all the products included.

Marvel Workmans Carry All:
Marvel- $9.33
First up is an awesome lunch tin. Yes- I said awesome. How cool is a real-life lunch tin (or carry-all)? Spider-Man isn't my fav but I was still kind of jealous and wish it was mine. Looks like they sent out a Marvel Carry All aka others may have gotten other things. CJ will probably end up putting toys in it- yep toys- like Legos or something- idk. He's my geeky bf and I love him.

I have to say I love that everything was packed up in the tin- it is so cute!

Translucent 7 Dice RPG Set:
Awesomedice.com+Chessex- $5.50
So, CJ's super geeky days (yes RPG included) are in the middle school/high school past but I think he was still excited to get these. The card talks about using them as real-life decision makers and CJ was saying it will be our new "who picks where we eat dinner" decider...

8 Bit Zombie Power Pack:
8BitZombie.com- $10
These were really different but we loved the idea. Combining a popular topic-zombies-with an 80's theme- excellent. Their website start page is in 8 bit too- nice follow-through on a theme. CJ had a corkboard where he puts stickers up (from breweries, companies, etc.) so he is gonna put these up there.

2 buttons + 5 stickers
Hello Panda Chocolate Deliciousness:
Meiji- $5.83
Yes! I loved these things when I was a kid! So excited to try them again- CJ tore into them right away! I am avoiding chocolate since I have a big show tomorrow (no acid reflux for me) but this will be a treat for us, for sure! We both loved the nostalgia we got immediately after seeing these.

Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Verdict: All totaled these products were roughly $30.66- compare that to the $19.37 the box costs and this seems like a good deal! LootCrate is definitely about the products though and not the savings- it is about embracing the inner geek (or outer geek as it may be) and discovering cool and new products. My boyfriend loved this box mainly because it was so great to see such unexpected products. This is really a box where you have no idea what to expect which makes it a great treat to get in the mail! PopSugar Must Have January Unboxing + Review!

Yeah, my first unboxing! I'm excited to actually show you all what subscription boxes are about.

PopSugar Must Have:
Type: Lifestyle Box
Cost: $35/month includes shipping
What is it?: Each month hand-selected products are delivered featuring must-have beauty, fitness, fashion, food, and home items. Each box delivers full-size and premium items worth over $100. Boxes introduce clientele to new brands as well as old favorites and deliver a variety of products each month. Use my referral code to help get me a free box and use promo code REFERFRIENDS to save $5 on your first box.

Disclaimer about January's PopSugar: I already looked at sneak peeks and know what is in the box. For some reason though that doesn't make seeing the box on my front doorstep less exciting!

This month is all about the new year! Here's to resolutions!

Trademark pink wrapping paper: Enjoy!
Every box doesn't just have a card with the contents but a whole booklet explaining that month's Must Have products.

You can see the box was filled to the brim!
Must Have Fitness:
Merrithew Stability Ball $38.99
Obviously, this new year's resolution is about getting fit. This Ball is worth than how much the entire box costs already. To be honest, I was NOT excited about this- I've had stability ball's around most of my life and to me they are just something I would get myself. However, it is a great value AND I don't have one right now.

Including a card with exercises too!
 Must Have Fashion:
The Remix Timebomb: ~$44.95
This resolution is all about being on time in 2013. This prices is approximate because this a PopSugar exclusive and Remix Watches doesn't have an exact one for sale. I know people got either a white or blue one and I don't know if I was excited to get the white one or not... This is a pricey watch and it's big features are that there is a LED light so you won't be stuck in the dark AND it can be changed out with other straps- the silicone strap completely comes off. I'm still not sold on this- the LED definitely isn't my fav but we'll see how I feel. Maybe I'll give this as a giveaway since I already have a large white watch...

Yeah it fits!
Completely comes off!

Must Have Food:
Popbar Hot Chocolate on a stick: $2.99/each
I am stoked for this. Whenever I see hot chocolate on a stick I desperately want to try it. Now I can in both milk and dark chocolate. They are 230 and 220 calories respectively so they are quite rich especially since they should go in steamed milk but I am so excited to try these out.

Must Have Food:
Jet-puffed Vanilla Mallow Bits: $6.49
One- I can't believe these are so pricey. Two- Really? Kraft marshmallows in this box? I guess it goes with the hot chocolate and they aren't the usual ones that people buy but instead the super duper tiny kind that usually come in swiss miss packets. Not excited.

Must Have Beauty:
Epicuren Discovery Lip Balm: ~$9
At first I though meh, lip balm BUT I love it. This is a luxury balm with tea tree oil and aloe vera and when you apply it has a nice cooling effect. I've had it on for over an hour and it is still super hydrating- hasn't even begun to dry out!

Special Extras:
Think Think Bars: $1.69-$1.99 each plus $1 off coupon
Meh. Doesn't thrill me. Guess I'll try it. They are between 170-230 calories and I am a lover of the FiberOne 90 cal bars so that's not the best for me.

Casetagram: $15 gift certificate
This site to make custom phone and iPad covers is amazing BUT not for me as I have an HTC phone- sad day as they only cater to iPhones/iPads/Samsung phones. Let me know if you are interested in the comments and I will give you my code!

Verdict: All totaled this was about $127 worth of products compared to the $35 the box cost aka a big improvement. I must admit though that the September box is what swayed me to start getting this product (at the time the next available opening to sign up was for the November box) and then the October box was stellar too! I was beyond excited for November and was a bit let down (my favorite thing came from a coupon for a free shirt on StyleMint) and then December which I though would be decadent for the holidays was very lackluster. I am not too stoked for this box either- there are some good things but nothing that screams out to me. Where are the books, movie tickets, amazing scarves, work-out gear, GOOD treats? I am giving PopSugar one more month and if I don't see a turn-around I am putting it on hold for a bit so I can try out and review other boxes.

Bonus: Henry getting caught trying to get in the box while taking pics

Don't forget to like me on FB for my 100 likes surprise! Hint when I hit 50! Also, Loot Crate came in the mail today too so expect that unboxing soon.
