Limited Edition Birchbox Snow Day Review
I have sooo many boxes to catch up on and review and I do not have any kind of a system. Stupid I know, but sometimes I just do whatever strikes my fancy that day! We are in the middle of icemageddon here in Dallas so this Snow Day Box from Birchbox seemed to tie in perfectly!Birchbox Limited Edition Snow Day Box: $39 Sorry it's sold out!
Use my referral code to get started but know that Birchbox has a waiting period of usually 4-5 weeks.
This Birchbox box actually came in a large blue box but this interior box was soo much prettier- I think I actually am not going to recycle this but just re-use it- it's very pretty for a cardboard box!
First look!
Btw, you might notice these pics are pretty good quality. We've upped our game- some reviews I'll post have the older look but from now on we are taking them this way!
Yeah!! I LOVE Birchbox Limited Edition boxes and if I have the moolah I scoop them up! They make me so happy!
SNOW DAY!
The card design is great!
Loads of cards- the tiny print one is the list of ALL the stuff.
Another good card is the snow day reading list- Mindy Kaling's book is a fun read and I'm totally down to read Death Comes to Pemberley since British crime TV shows are so awesome (anyone else watch The Bletchley Circle??)
Happy Socks: Cotton crew socks to warm your tootsies and pack a bright punch. Done. I totally rocked my fuzzy slipper socks (yes, the ones with little pads on the bottom) all day yesterday. These are thicker than they look so they are perfect for warmth. I'm totally putting these on when I get home (from a choir gig) tonight- I'm rockin this whole box today! Price: $10
Three Tarts- Gourmet Cinnamon Marshmallows: Why are gourmet marshmallows so delicious?!? Every food box I've gotten with them has been scrumptious! I have been salivating for cocoa and marshmallows so these are being devoured tomorrow after I get home from my church job! Price: $2.20
Askinosie Chocolate- Single Origin Cocoa Powder: Like I said, I am craving hot cocoa! I can't wait to have this tomorrow!!! (One reason I am waiting is I have to sing a bunch tonight and tomorrow morning and chocolate isn't great for the throat). This is fair trade cocoa for baking and drinking! Means it's not too sweet but luckily Birchbox sent out a perfect hot chocolate recipe, a little milk, a little sugar, and you have a bomb drink! Price: $3.23
L'OCCITANE- Shea Butter Hand Cream: Umm, yes please!!! It's their signature scent and so it's really light and this dry hand cream does the trick without being overly greasy. It's my favorite- for reals. There's also an offer for 10% AND a FREE mini-facial with purchase of $25... I think I'm gonna do it! I don't often use the coupons in boxes but this one sounds awesome and I would buy their lotion as gifts- it's just so good! Price: $1.87 + whatever a mini-facial costs!
Chantecaille- Jasmine & Lily Healing Mask + Flower Infused Cleansing Milk: This rosewater mask calms down dry, wind-burned skin AND doubles as night cream. Awesome, since I am out of my night lotion! And the cleansing milk (sounds so luxurious) cleanses, hydrates, and brightens using natural blue cornflower. I love this little travel duo- trying new face washes is something I love and this fancy pair seems like fun! Price: $12.54 + $5.08
S.W. Basics- Organic Lip Balm: I always say I can always use another chapstick even if they aren't too exciting but I honestly am excited for this one. S.W. Basics is a great brand that I haven't tried much so anything is fun to dive into. It's cinnamon which definitely fits the theme and I love the nonsticky feel. It's a little spicy smelling but I like it. Price: $3.75
Mox Botanicals- Matcha & Clementine Body Soak: This Portland brand is supposed to be great so it was, once again, a brand I was eager to try. And a body soak? How did you know?!? I love these puppies- an aromatic soak is heavenly... I would be all about this today... if our hot water was working. Hmm- maybe tonight all will be well and I can shake off a few hours standing on risers and facing icy roads by a nice soak! Price: $4.47
(MALIN + GOETZ)- Votive in Cannabis: Yep, cannabis! I really like this brand but was wary of getting this particular fragrance. The other option was rum which I'm sure my bf would have loved. They are both rich, warm scents and I'm surprised to say it actually smells good. I don't like real-life cannabis smell but this smells dark and rich and nice. Price: $13.58
JONATHON ADLER- Fireplace Matches: By the time this box arrived I had forgotten the contents so when I saw this pretty "bottle" I immediately thought incense. Wrong. They are adorable matches. How are matches adorable? Who knows, but these are. This is a lovely addition to an already amazing box. Price: $10
Scrabble- Birchbox Edition Mini Game Set: Umm, how adorable is this?!? How CUTE are these pictures. Major props to my boyfriend for thinking up the gameboard set-up. I love it so much. We love board games and though my bf can school me at scrabble (and I'm not the best sport when it comes to losing) I think we'll play a round tonight. I just love this oh-so-much! Price: $36
Verdict: Let's see... this is amazing! I always love my limited edition boxes but this one may be my favorite yet! So many amazing goodies for $39! The actual value of this box?!? $102.72!! Score! Over twice the initial cost. Lovin' it! The scrabble board may be my favorite- although the pictures may have swayed that decision and I love the lotion and free facial option! Gah! I love it all! Alrighty then, until next time! I'll get my regular Birchbox posts up soon!
